Tue., Oct. 24, 2017

Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 13: 1-19.

Memory Verse: So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Ephesians 5:15 (NLT)

A date rape drug, also referred to as a predator drug, is any drug that acts as an incapacitating agent. When administered, it incapacitates and renders her victims vulnerable to a drug facilitated sexual assault (DFSA) e.g. rape. The most common types of DFSA are those in which a victim consumes a recreational drug such as alcohol administered surreptitiously. The most common form of DFSA is alcohol-related, with the victim in most cases consuming the alcohol voluntarily. Other date rape drugs include rohypnolketamine and gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB).

Rohypnol has been abused by high school students, college students, street gang members, rave party attendees, heroin and cocaine abusers to produce profound intoxication, boost the high of heroin, and modulate the effects of cocaine. Teenagers and young males age 13 to 30 have been noted as the primary abusers of Rohypnol. Rohypnol is usually consumed orally, and is often combined with alcohol. It may also be abused by crushing tablets and snorting the powder, or by dissolving prior to injection. A woman was taken by five (5) men, who according to hospital and police report was raped by a gang before being dumped at a bus station! Though she was unable to remember the events of the previous evening, tests conducted revealed that she had been raped repeatedly. There was a trace of Rohypnol in her blood.

Warning: For many party lovers be warned! Never leave your drink open. Buy your own drinks; ensure bottles or cans received are unopened or sealed. Do not taste someone else’s drink. Be sure of the source of that fruit. It could have being injected with a date rape drug.

Quote: Watch Your Steps.

Prophetic Word:        May you not be a victim of an irrevocable hard lesson, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. Father, I’m sorry for leaving my place under your watchful eyes.
  2. I receive grace to walk in wisdom, in Jesus name.
  3. Father Lord, keep me under your watchful eyes today and always, in Jesus name.
  4. I will not leave Nineveh for Tarshish, in Jesus name.
  5. I refuse to be an architect of my own misfortune, in the name of Jesus.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (1)

The Quiet Destroyers are otherwise known as Secret Sins That Ruin Destiny. Many destinies have not been destroyed by loud sins, but by quiet ones. The sins nobody sees. The ones people excuse. The ones hidden behind reputation, ministry, intelligence, or success. Yet heaven sees them clearly. The Bible says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Secret sins do not remain secret forever. They slowly weaken the soul until a man who once carried promise begins to lose weight in the spirit...

THE DANGER OF SECRET SIN

Bro. Gbile Akanni once shared a sobering story that has stayed in my heart for many years. He spoke about an elderly evangelist whom God used mightily in the past. In those days there was no television, only radio. When this man of God preached, people would gather around their radios. Sometimes he would say, “Place your hand on the radio.”...
