Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 2: 1-11
Memory Verse: I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind. Ecclesiastes 1:14 (ESV)
A father in faith shared a story of how he had been preaching to one of his friends since the 80s. He had an opportunity to talk to him about Christ again in 2014. As soon as I started, he said “Hold on Pastor, you don’t need to worry anymore. When you were talking to me about Christ some thirty years ago, I wasn’t listening because of my ambitions, but now I have seen it all and I know it is vanity”. He also added “Whenever I want to drink alcohol or do some things I enjoyed doing, you would say it was not allowed. Now, even if someone gives me a hundred million dollars, it will have no value before me. I am ready to give my life to Christ so that my life can have real value. He didn’t have to preach anymore to win that soul for Christ.
Dear Friend, would you want to continue to experiment with sin and all the ephemeral dainties of this world? You need not do that. You have only one life to spend, and the earlier you get it right, the better for your star to shine. Like the brother in the aforementioned testimony, Solomon the wisest man of the Old Testament experimented with the pleasures of this world. Like many young adults, he experimented with women marrying 700 and having 300 concubines. He did anything his heart desired. He drank the choicest wine, built mansions and enjoyed life to the fullest. But, at the end of his life, he found out that all was vanity. That examination malpractice, forged certificate, pen robbery, budget padding, hard drugs, alcohol, pornography and masturbation addiction, etc., will only take you further into hell.
You call it fun, but at the end of your life, it may cost you your destiny and eternity in hell. Awake O Zion unto a higher purpose for living. Excess pleasure is a journey to self-destruction. Life must be lived for a higher purpose in Christ Jesus. What were you born to do? What will you contribute to your own generation? What problems are you here to solve? We have read about Albert Einstein in the world of Science, Smith Wigglesworth in ministry, Kaka in the world of sport, etc., what niche are you willing to carve for yourself in life and destiny at the end of your life?
Quote: Some write their names in sand of time; others write their names in the heart of men. It is all about the purpose for which they chose to live.
Prophetic Decree: Your life shall not be wasted, in Jesus name.
