Bible Reading: Joshua 1:8, Romans 12:11, Philippians 4:13

Memory Verse:  I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] Philippians 4:13 (AMP)

Can I repeat it for an umpteenth time that you can be successful doing the wrong things. This is another classical but subtle way the devil wastes destiny. Imagine if Saul of Tarsus ended up as a successfully trained lawyer throughout his life time. That’s bad success. Good success is simply following and maximizing God’s plan for your life per time in career, academics and ultimately in destiny all to the glory of God. Just follow God. Trust not in your own understanding. Die to the dictates of your will and self ambition. Ese Brume won the bronze medal in the women’s long jump event Olympics in Tokyo 2021.

Brume said, “I’ll say I’m not the best athlete but I’m grateful to God for bringing me this far.” Brume dedicated her medal to God Almighty, and her father in the Lord, Bishop David Oyedepo, her family, as well as her coach. Beloved, that great feat could have only come from God. Why? In her own words, “It has been a great season for me right from April when I was injured but I never settled for less no matter the challenges. I kept on pushing and my coach kept telling me that Ese you can do it. It is not all about the training but the faith I had in God,” Brume said. The Nigerian Olympian leapt 6.97 metres with her very first jump to claim bronze. Brume has joined Blessing Okagbare and Glory Alozie as the only Nigerians to win individual medals at both the Worlds championship and the Olympics.

Worthy of note is that her coach was the one God used to win her soul and several others like her to Christ. What a coach he is! Another example of a silent labourer. In conclusion, Brume honoured God, her father in the Lord and her coach when she got a bronze medal in 2021Tokyo Olympics and she went ahead to win a silver medal in the women’s long jump at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade. She leapt 6.85 meters to become the third Nigerian athlete to win medals in all three global athletics championships including the Olympics.

Success Recipe:

1. When you put God at the centre of your life, He sure will veto your weaknesses, mistakes and limitations until He brings you to the pinnacle of His glory.

2. We need more self proclaiming Christians in the market place. We are the light to the world and salt to the earth.

3. Stop being a secret discipline. Shine for Christ on your way to the top. Be proud of the God you serve.

4. An attitude of gratitude will increase your altitude in life.

5. You will soar faster and higher if you will surround yourself with godly people, mentors and coach.

6. Make sure you have a spiritual cover over you, and honour him/her at all times.

7. Ultimately, how far you will travel in life, academics, ministry and destiny is determined by you and not anyone else.

Quote:  Success is sweet, but the secret is wisdom.
