Bible Reading:  Hebrews 4:16

Memory VerseSo let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)

A Christian brother once wrote: One day, I sinned against God. I was filled with guilt and shame the whole day. It got to my prayer time in the evening, everything in me resisted me from praying. But I forced myself, entered my prayer closet and lifted my voice and began to adore the Lord, seeking his mercy and help. Then he said to me, “You don’t know how much it gladdens my heart when you defile your guilt and excuses to spend time with me. It shows you worship me more than you worship your mistakes.”

I paused! It sank really deep. You need to stop worshipping your mistakes and past. Just as a man cannot be too dirty not to be washed by water, so you cannot be too sinful not to be cleansed by prayer. Just as water cleanses, so does God’s word and presence. Don’t run from prayers which is the one thing that can save you from your guilt, and wash you into wholeness. This is deliverance already for someone. Defile that guilt now and seek God’s face. He loves it when we do so.

Please be mindful. We are not talking about willfully conceived and well implemented sin. That is wickedness that could attract the judgement of God. But, once in a while we do err. The weaknesses in our humanity do pop up. Then, you feel broken and repentant. Devoid yourself from the whispers of self-guilt and self-condemnation. Imagine a man swimming in a miry clay and unwilling to accept the help of another person offering clen water. That is who you are when you languish in your mistake. There is no future in the past. Look ahead. Run again. Lay flat before your heavenly father.

Hebrews 4:16 (AMP), “Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].” Today is your day of salvation. Throw yourself into the everlasting arms of the Father. Learn and grow. Stop worshipping your mistakes.

QuoteYou have to make mistakes to find out who you aren’t. You take the action, and the insight follows: You don’t think your way into becoming yourself – Anne Lamott.

Prophetic Decree: May the Blood of Jesus laminate your heart from all guilt, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you God for the privilege to call you Father.

2. I come against every inherent weakness in my life making me fall consistently into mistakes, in Jesus name.

3. Arrow of mistakes and error fired at me, backfire, in Jesus name.

4. Arrow of mistakes fired at me to make my destiny helper turn their back at me, backfire, in Jesus name.

5. Any garment of mistake upon my life, catch fire, in Jesus name.
