Bible Reading: Philippians 4: 6-7

Memory Verse:  And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].  Philippians 4:7 (AMP)

For those living in the developed countries of the world, balancing work with childcare and school activities (where applicable) may impact negatively on your emotional balance. If you’re not careful, your spouse and children will be the recipient of your transferred aggression. You must learn to control yourself.

In other less developed countries of the world, we have more angry and frustrated people on the street now. Just a little mistake while driving, you’ll see someone respond like they’ve been quarrelling since ages. A man who queued at the petrol station for long hours may be in a frustrated state of mind. His wife, who retails at the local market, and didn’t make good sales because of economic downturn may also return home very angry.

Now what happens when a frustrated man meets an angry woman? The answer is the obvious – an emotional combustible reaction! Don’t go home and transfer your aggression on your wife and children. She is not responsible for the fuel scarcity, afterall. Call yourself to order. Don’t go home and nag your husband. What does he have to do with your market problems? A wise man once said, “Anger is a chosen response”. Your home should be a place of solace, a place of peace, a place of comfort always.

It should be a place you desire to run to and smile again. If everything around you seems to be a mess, ensure your home is not one. Before you get home, please drop all your problems at the gate. Don’t go home and transfer your frustrations and anger on your spouse or children. With the help of God, you can be on top of every situation.

Quote:You own your feelings. You own your thoughts. You control both. No one has the right to any of it—to any of you without your permission – Carlos Wallace.

Prophetic Decree: Receive the spirit of self-control, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Holy Spirit for a word in season.

2. I strip myself off every accumulated frustration and anger, in Jesus name.

3. I receive strength in my inner man to silence the voice of the flesh, in Jesus name.

4. I receive wisdom to control things within my reach, and let go of things that are out of my control, in Jesus name.

5. Holy Spirit, overwhelm my emotions. Help me to see the positive side in all situations, in Jesus name.
