Bible Reading: Genesis 8:22

Memory VerseAs long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.” Genesis 8:22 (NLT)

As feeble as Man is, he will continue to be God’s instrument and God’s method of getting things done on planet earth. No wonder the Psalmist cried, “Then I ask, “Why do you care about us humans? Why are you concerned for us weaklings?”

You made us a little lower than you yourself, and you have crowned us with glory and honor.” Psalm 8:4-5 (CEV). Unfortunately, many are their own enemies. Worst still, many are fighting their own helpers due to their carelessness, ignorance or arrogance.

The story is told of a Medical doctor who received an emergency call to report to his hospital for an emergency. A patient was about to be delivered of a baby but the procedure was getting complicated. He picked up his car keys and zoomed off. Along the way, he met some police officers who asked for his particulars and other car documents.

He presented them but still, they refused to release him. He pleaded with them that he was a Medical Doctor rushing to an emergency. His phone kept buzzing as other medical personnel wanted to be sure he was on his way, but the power drunk officers refused to let him go.

Few minutes later, one of the officers also received a call that his wife was in the middle of life and death. He reluctantly released the doctor as he jetted out to see his own wife.

Guess what? Both the Medical Doctor and the police officer met at the same hospital. Unfortunately, the doctor arrived late and his patient had died. It happened that the patient was the police officer’s wife.

This is the typical example of a man who because of covetousness, pride, and stupidity fought his destiny helper. What goes around comes around. The law of retributive justice! Whosoever a man sows, he will reap. Refuse to fight with your destiny helpers by your awkward behaviour this year 2024. God bless you.
