Bible Reading: Proverbs 19:2
Memory Verse: Desire without knowledge is not good— how much more will hasty feet miss the way! Proverbs 19:2 (NIV)
A brother said: Some years ago, we used to go to an hotel to preach to sex workers. Mostly, it was on Saturday or Friday evening, we used the opportunity to invite them to vigil or Sunday service from where they are led to the Lord. The brother leading us called me aside one day, he said we can go into their rooms and preach to them. I told him, I won’t go inside, let us preach to those outside alone.
He told me I lack passion for souls but I disagree with him, I said Jesus said love your neighbour as yourself not beyond myself. When he told the other brethren they all said NO, we preach outside. Next weekend he left before us and straight to the prostitute room preaching. By the time we arrived in the evening, we met him naked, beaten and tied with a rope. One thing led to another, he was caught in the act with the soul HE WANTED TO CONVERT.
We are only instructed to preach the gospel through the persuasion of the Bible, the rest is the work of the Holy Spirit. The prostitutes pursued all of us from that place, they said we are all the same. The devil you’re trying to outsmart is older and smarter than you. Follow what the word says not your carnal persuasion. Our job is to witness the gospel not to convert soul. Some of us have been privileged to be one on one with death on mission field for the sake of the gospel, kindly stop this subtle gospel of everything goes.
Similarly, a brother wanted to start a business. He had the capital but no technical knowledge. He had two options. Start small even as he experiment or he submits himself to tutelage. He went headlong to commit all his resources in a business he had little or no clue. Millions of naira went down the drain. “Willingness and stupidity don’t go well together. If you are too eager, you will miss the road.” Proverbs 19:2 (CEV)
Quote: Of a necessity, the work of God must be done with the wisdom of God.
Prophetic Decree: You shall not be an embarrassment to the kingdom of God, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. Lord, I repent of anyway I have brought shame to your kingdom in Jesus name.
2. I receive fresh impartation for divine wisdom, in Jesus name.
3. I receive grace to discern between my flesh and spirit, in Jesus name.
4. I will not despise the sound of wisdom, in Jesus name.
5. Lord help me to do your work in your own way. I shall not be an embarrassment to your kingdom, in Jesus name.
