Bible Reading: Genesis 48: 13-20

Memory VerseBut his father said, “Son, I know what I am doing. It’s true that Manasseh’s family will someday become a great nation. But Ephraim will be even greater than Manasseh, because his descendants will become many great nations.” Genesis 48:19 (CEV)

There are people God wants to use to change the priesthood at work in their families. You better stay on guard! While God is preparing you in a particular season, be double sure He has other alternative plan should you decide to faulter or faint. Once the season opens up, a saviour must arise in such families.

Don’t be like Moses who delayed the deliverance of the children of Israel. The supposed bondage of 400 years eventually lasted for 430 years. Be like Daniel who understood by books that the captivity of the Jews in Babylon was set for only 70 years and thus began to pray, plan and prepare for their release (Daniel 9). You remember the story of the lead actor, Olayiotan Abejoye in the popular Mount Zion Season Film.

Had he failed to return back to his home town (Ajibogun) while he was on holiday in the US, the Lord would have raised another vessel to complete his assignment. He would have been divinely substituted. Thank God, he obeyed. He despised the shame and returned back to his nativity to complete his divine assignment. His honour and glory was eventually restored unto him.

The messenger may change, but the message must surely be delivered. Sometimes past, there was a young God-fearing man, an heir to the throne, who was just about to be coronated in a newly discovered oil rich town. Now he needed a wife. He remembered a godly lady back then on campus and decided to approach her respectfully. Unfortunately, this lady had not kept her sexual purity. She had been disvirgined.

She bursted into tears. The tradition of the land will not accept anything less than a virgin. She lost out and another lady who had worked closely with this man was crowned queen. Divine substitution! You had better guide the gate of your duty post where God has kept you. Else, you could be substituted.

If you think your Elijah is the only one that has not bowed to Baal, you will be surprised that there are 7,000 prophets still standing! The Monarch of the Universe, who doubles as the God of all flesh cannot be stranded because of you when He has got over 7 billion people on planet Earth.

QuoteAll Men are important but none is indispensable.

Prophetic Decree:  The devil and his host shall not scheme you away from your divine duty post, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Power that wants to substitute my destiny, be wasted, in Jesus name.

2. I will not be substituted whether the enemies like it or not, in Jesus name.

3. Mercy of God, please keep me at my duty post, in Jesus name.

4. Arrow of destiny diversion, backfire, in Jesus name.

5. Opportunity wasters, my destiny cannot be wasted, in Jesus name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:  Psalms 3-4, 12-13, 28, 55

Hymn: IT PAYS TO SERVE JESUS

1 It pays to serve Jesus, I speak from my heart;

He’ll always be with us, if we do our part;

There’s naught in this wide world can pleasure afford,

There’s peace and contentment in serving the Lord.

Refrain:

I love Him far better than in days of yore,

I’ll serve Him more truly than ever before;

I’ll do as He bids me, whatever the cost,

I’ll be a true soldier — I’ll die at my post.

2. And oft when I’m tempted to turn from the track,

I think of my Savior — my mind wanders back

To the place where they nailed Him on Calvary’s tree—

I hear a voice saying, I suffered for thee.

 [Refrain]

3 There’s a place that remembrance still brings back to me,

’Twas there I found pardon — ’twas Heaven to me;

There Jesus spoke sweetly to my weary soul,

My sins were forgiven, He made my heart whole.

[Refrain]

4 How rich is the blessing the world cannot give,

I’m satisfied fully for Jesus to live;

Tho’ friends may forsake me, and trials arise,

I’m trusting in Jesus, His love never dies.

[Refrain]
