Bible Reading: Psalm 37:5

Memory Verse:Let the LORD lead you and trust him to help. Psalm 37:5 (CEV)

Other reasons why people make the wrong choice in marriage include:

7. Infatuation vs. Love: Confusing intense infatuation for genuine love can lead to choosing a partner based on superficial qualities rather than a deeper understanding of compatibility.

8. Ignoring Red Flags: Overlooking warning signs or dismissing important differences in values, communication styles, long-term goals or behavioural patterns can contribute to marrying the wrong person.

9. Unrealistic Expectations: Setting unrealistically high expectations for a partner in marriage can result in dissatisfaction and disappointment when reality doesn’t meet these ideals.

10. Fear of being Alone: The fear of loneliness may drive individuals to settle for a partner out of convenience rather than choosing someone who truly complements their life.

11. Miscommunication: Insufficient communication about essential topics such as finances, family planning, and personal goals can lead to misunderstandings and regrets later in the marriage.

12. Change in Priorities: People evolve over time, and shifting priorities or personal growth misalignment can cause a once compatible couple to realise they married the wrong person.

13. Foundational Problems: Incomplete deliverance from foundational problems may cause people to marry the wrong spouse.

Marriage Quotes:

F. The man who sanctifies his wife understands that this is his divinely ordained responsibility… Is my wife more like Christ because she is married to me? Or is she like Christ in spite of me? Has she shrunk from His likeness because of me? Do I sanctify her or hold her back? Is she a better woman because she is married to me? — R. Kent Hughes

G. Fix your eyes on Jesus and the plans he has for your life. Look ahead, and run after him with all your heart. Then look around. Whoever has kept up with you, marry that person ―Debra Fileta.

I. We should be able to look at our spouse in the face and say, ‘You complete me…’ This completeness of husband and wife is why the apostle Paul can say that to love your spouse is to love yourself (Ephesians 5:28). The two really are one, and this means so much more than sentiment. It means they are one flesh – Steven Wedgeworth.

Prophetic Decree: Demonic foundational entanglement around your marriage shall catch fire, in Jesus name

Prayer Focus

1. O Lord, deliver me from infatuation in Jesus name.

2. My Father, deliver me from lust, in Jesus name.

3. My Father, please help me to bury my will in your will, in Jesus name.

4. Wisdom for marital glory overshadow my life, in Jesus name.

5. Anti-marital covenants and curses, break, in Jesus name.
