Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 7:14, Psalm 80:18
Memory Verse: For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring And My blessing on your descendants. Isaiah 44:3 (NASB)
An ember is a small piece of burning or glowing coal or wood in a dying fire. Hence, to fan the ember of revival is to prevent the dying fire of revival from finally quenching off. Now, how do we then fan the embers back into flame?
1. Repentance and Holiness: There is no revival without repentance. God will not revive what we will not surrender. The Church must return to holiness, purity, and fear of the Lord. “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” (Joshua 3:5). We need to preach and live holiness. Confess compromise. Teach righteousness. Remove any idol in your heart; and those hidden in entertainment, pride, or personal ambition.
2. Return to the Altar of Prayer: Revival begins where people cry out to God in desperation. In every past revival — from the Welsh Revival to Azusa Street — it started with small groups in earnest, humble prayer. Not polished programs, but groaning intercession. “If My people… will humble themselves and pray… I will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Rebuild prayer meetings in homes, churches, and even online. Restore the midnight cry for souls and nations.
3. Preach the Undiluted Gospel: Revival breaks out when Jesus is lifted high unashamedly. Preach the cross, not comfort. Preach repentance, not just relevance. Preach Jesus crucified, risen, and coming again. “And I, if I be lifted up… will draw all men unto Me” (John 12:32). We need to raise bold evangelists. Let pulpits thunder again. Use streets, schools, and social media as platforms for truth.
4. Be baptised with the power and fire of the Holy Spirit: Many churches operate without the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Revival cannot be manufactured. It is a move of God, and the Holy Spirit is the Fire starter. We must make room for the Spirit to move in worship, prayer, healing, prophecy, and deliverance. “Do not quench the Spirit… despise not prophesying…” (1 Thessalonians 5:19-20). Welcome the Holy Spirit. Train believers in His gifts. Tear up rigid programs if needed and let God take over.
5. Disciple the Next Generation: Revival must go beyond emotional experiences. It must create transformed lives and trained disciples. Satan targets youth; revival must reclaim them. Make disciples who carry fire into schools, universities, media, business, and beyond. “Go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19). We need to start small groups, Bible studies, youth missions. We need to equip disciples to walk in power and truth.
6. Unite the Body of Christ: Division quenches revival. Unity draws the anointing. “How good and pleasant it is… for there the Lord commands the blessing.” (Psalm 133:1-3). We need to host city-wide or regional prayer gatherings across denominations. We need to forgive, reconcile, and stand shoulder to shoulder.
Quote: Revival is not a feeling. It’s a fire that changes lives, transforms cities, and brings glory to God.
Prophetic Decree: May the fresh fire of revival fall upon our heart, our land, and nation from generation to generation, in Jesus name.
