Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 1:2 (ESV)
Memory Verse: I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3 (NIV)
Pastor Jerry Eze heard and fell in love with a song and since then, he has been singing it in Church almost every time he wants to pray. When Progress Effiong’s attention was drawn to many videos of Pastor Jerry singing the song, as someone who’s excited seeing his song flying and blessing lives, he made a video thanking Pastor Jerry Eze for always singing his song “AKAM MMI.”
Pastor Jerry Eze’s attention was drawn to that Progress’s “Appreciation’s Video,” and the only thing he said was, I will see him at NSPPD Lagos Conference.
Read exactly what Pastor Jerry Eze said below: “You know someone told me that the writer of the song, “Akam Mmi” had reached out to say thank you for liking his song, and this is me telling him that I will see him at the NSPPD Lagos Conference. It’s an express invitation to tell him that he will be at the NSPPD Lagos Conference. Because all we do is to pray. My prayer is on the Lord’s table”.
You see how one simple act of appreciation open a great door of opportunity for this young man. Sometimes, all that Jesus needs to do in your life is to open the gate of a big mansion. The number of doors you eventually open is left to you.
Many have closed the gate to the mansion due to ingratitude. They couldn’t discern. Here you are. You despised a boss who granted you privileges exclusive to permanent staff while you were just a bank staff member. Many children will never say thank you to their parents or teachers; they are so entitled. “After all, they gave birth to me, they should pay my fees”. Desist from these type of sayings. A teenager once flared up when his parents bought a car for his 18th birthday. “That’s not my spec”, he said. I’ve seen children throw tantrums when they want to have their way. Gratitude is first a mindset.
Gratitude is a heart condition that reflects humility. Gratitude says, “I don’t owe you anything yet you went this far for me”. Gratitude is a heart that has been smitten with a conviction to take personal responsibility at all times, but immensely appreciates the contribution of others who made the journey of life softer.
Quote: If you thank men for what they’ve done, you will most likely have more.
Prophetic Decree: Receive your deliverance from the cancer of ingratitude that closes once opened doors, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
1. Lord, I repent of ingratitude to my parents, pastor, teachers, and random helpers, in Jesus name.
2. I purge my heart from entitlement mentality by the power in the Blood of Jesus.
3. I receive a humble and broken spirit to discern the contributions of my benefactors, in Jesus name.
4. Once opened doors that has been closed by ingratitude, be opened by mercy, in Jesus name.
5. I receive wisdom to discern and appreciate the contributions of men, in Jesus name.
