Bible Reading: Exodus 33:15

Memory Verse:  You reveal the path of life to me; in your presence is abundant joy; at your right hand are eternal pleasuresPsalm 16:11 (CSB)

Many people understand the idea of investing. You put time, money, or effort into something today because you expect a greater return tomorrow. Farmers invest seeds into the soil. Business people invest money into opportunities. Students invest time into studying. But one of the greatest investments a believer can make is investing in God’s presence. Five important points:

1. God’s Presence Is the Believer’s Greatest Treasure: The most valuable thing in the life of a Christian is not position, wealth, or influence. It is the presence of God. When Moses was leading Israel, he made a powerful statement, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Exodus 33:15). Moses understood something many people miss: success without God’s presence is still failure. It is called ‘bad success’. God’s presence brings wisdom, direction, peace, strength, utterance, accuracy, specificity, and favour that no human effort can produce.

2. Investing in God’s Presence Requires Time: Every investment requires time. No farmer plants a seed today and expects fruit tomorrow. In the same way, God’s presence grows in our lives when we consistently spend time with Him. James 4:8, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” This investment happens through: prayer, worship, reading and meditating on Scripture, and quiet moments of fellowship with God. These moments may look small, but they are spiritual deposits into your relationship with God.

3. God’s Presence Changes Us Before It Changes Our Circumstances: Sometimes we enter God’s presence expecting Him to change our situation immediately. But often, God first changes our hearts. When Isaiah encountered God’s presence, he did not first see the problems of the nation; he saw his own heart. Isaiah 6:5 says, “Woe is me, for I am undone… for my eyes have seen the King.” God’s presence purifies us, aligns our hearts, and gives us the strength to live differently.

4. Investing in God’s Presence Brings Spiritual Strength: Life can be draining. Challenges, responsibilities, and disappointments can make the soul tired. But time in God’s presence renews our strength. Psalm 16:11 says, “In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” The more we invest in His presence, the more we receive: peace in difficult times, wisdom for decisions, strength for daily life, and joy that circumstances cannot steal.

5. God Rewards Those Who Seek Him: No investment with God is wasted. Hebrews 11:6 says, “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” The reward may not always look the way we expect, but those who prioritize God’s presence always discover something priceless: a deeper relationship with Him.

Ask yourself honestly: Do I treat God’s presence as a priority or an afterthought? What daily time am I investing in my relationship with God? When last did I have a quality quiet time?

QuoteInvesting in God’s presence is not just a business for preachers and men of God and those called to ministry. No! Like the fish needs water, like the birds need the tree and the air, Man was designed to find his relevance in the presence of God – Apostle Joshua Selman.

Prophetic Decree: Henceforth, receive an insatiable craving for the presence of God, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

Lord, teach me to value Your presence above everything else. Help me to invest time daily in fellowship with You. Let my heart hunger for You more than anything else, and let Your presence guide every part of my life. Amen.
