Bible Reading: James 2:14-17
Memory Verse: Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead James 2:17 (NIV)
Let’s be clear on this: The primary responsibility of the Church is to lead people to Christ. This is otherwise called salvation. However, transformation within should result in transformation withal because faith without action is dead. Correct me if I’m wrong, but in the long run, the Church is the principal agent of transformation on Earth. The Scriptures talks about Jesus, our Master, “The government shall be upon His soldiers“.
A church in Virginia made a great feat. Through fasting, prayer, and giving, they raised over $1 million to stop more than 300 families from being evicted. That means children stayed in their homes. Parents could breathe again. Hope was restored.
This is what real Christianity looks like.
It’s easy to say “God will provide,” but sometimes God is waiting for us to be the provision. That church understood something powerful: prayer is not an excuse to avoid responsibility. It is a preparation to take action.
They didn’t just ask God to “change the land.” They became part of the answer.
In everyday life, this could look like helping a struggling neighbour, supporting someone through a tough season, or using your resources, time, money, or skills to lift others up.
Faith is not just what we say in church. It is what we do within and outside it.

Prayer Focus
Lord, open my eyes to the needs around me. Give me a heart that cares and hands that are willing to serve. Make me part of the solution in my community IN JESUS NAME.
