A myth is a popular belief or tradition that has grown up around something or someone which is usually unfounded and a false notion. Unfortunately, many believers love God, pray, attend church, yet never step into the miraculous. This is not because God has changed, but because certain beliefs have quietly limited them. Let’s expose them: 

Myth 1: “The Miraculous Is Only for Special People”: Many think miracles are only for pastors, prophets, or “anointed vessels.” But Jesus didn’t say “these signs shall follow pastors.” He said: “these signs shall follow those who believe.” (Mark 16:17). If you believe, you qualify. The miraculous flows from relationship with God, and not titles.

Myth 2: “God Doesn’t Use People Like Me”: Some feel disqualified because of their past, weaknesses, or struggles. But Scripture is full of unlikely vessels. Peter denied Jesus, yet healed the sick. Paul persecuted the church, yet raised the dead. God doesn’t use perfect people; He uses yielded people.

Myth 3: “Miracles Are Rare and Random”: Many believe miracles just “happen” when God feels like it, but Jesus operated in miracles consistently and not occasionally. He showed us a lifestyle, and not a lottery. The miraculous is meant to be a normal expression of the Kingdom, not a rare event.

Myth 4: “You Must Feel Power Before You Act”: Some wait to feel something before praying for the sick or stepping out. But faith doesn’t wait for feelings. Peter didn’t say, “Wait, let me feel power first.” He said, “In the name of Jesus Christ… rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6). If you would dare to act in faith; power will flow. The power of God follows obedience.

Myth 5: “If It Doesn’t Work Once, It’s Not for Me”: One failed attempt discourages many. But even the disciples once failed to cast out a demon (Matthew 17:19–20). Jesus didn’t tell them to stop. He corrected and taught them. Growth in the miraculous often comes through persistence, and not perfection.

Prophetic Decree: Henceforth, walk in victory, power, healing and dominion, in Jesus name. 

Prayer Focus 

1. Thank you Father for the power and fire in your Word. 

2. I burn all demonic misconceptions hindering me from walking in glory, in Jesus name.

3. Fire of the Holy Ghost, burn all cultural myths preventing me from walking in healing and miracles, in Jesus name. 

4. Spirit of faith and divine audacity overwhelm my spirit, soul, and body, in Jesus name. 

5. Satanic lies stopping me from walking in the supernatural, die by fire, in Jesus name.
