Bible Reading: Mark 16:17–18, John 14:12
Memory Verse: Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. Mark 9:23 (NIV)
Myths are wrong assumptions about a particular thing. Myths are not always taught directly. Sometimes they are picked up from culture, fear, or misunderstanding Scripture. But if left unchecked, they become invisible chains.
Let’s further expose myths surrounding working in the miraculous:
Myth 6: “Miracles Are Just for Bible Times”: Some think miracles ended with the early church but Jesus said, “the works that I do, you will do also, and greater works.” (John 14:12). That promise wasn’t for a generation; it’s for all who believe. God hasn’t changed. His power hasn’t expired. All believers are to work in healing and the miraculous.
Myth 7: “You Need a Perfect Life Before God Can Use You”: Many believers disqualify themselves daily: “I got angry today. Hence, God can’t use me.” “I’m still struggling with some issues in my life, so I’ll wait.” If that were true, no one would ever be used. God works through you even as He works on you.
Myth 8: “The Miraculous Is Only About Big, Dramatic Events”: People think miracles must be dramatic e.g. blind eyes opening, cripples walking. But the miraculous also includes a timely word, healing headaches, peace replacing anxiety, and provision in need. Every act of God’s power, big or small, is miraculous.
Myth 9: “It Might Be Pride to Step Out”: Some shrink back thinking, “What if I look like I’m trying to be spiritual?” Friends, refusing to act when God prompts you isn’t humility. It’s fear disguised as caution. Obedience glorifies God, not you.
Myth 10: “God Will Do It Without Me”: God partners with people. Jesus could have healed everyone alone, but He sent His disciples. God works through willing vessels.
Closing Thought: The biggest barrier to the miraculous is not lack of power; it’s wrong thinking. Once your mind is renewed, your faith rises, and when faith rises, action follows. And of course, when action follows, the miraculous begins to flow.
Quote: God’s power is available to all, but only activated by those who believe and step out.
Prophetic Decree: Let every limiting belief that has held you back, in Jesus name.
