Bible Reading: Psalm 124:1-8
Memory Verse: Let’s praise the LORD! He protected us from enemies who were like wild animals. Psalm 124:6 (CEV)
Satan visited me and asked me, “How are you? I told him, “I thank God for everything”. He laughed me to scorn. He said what on earth should I thank God for? He reminded me of my many visions for Year 2020 yet to be accomplished even as the year rounds off, and I reminded him of many of my dreams that have been accomplished despite the COVID-19 pandemic. He showed me my mates who are living in mansions, and I showed him my mates who are also inside the grave.
He showed me some of my mates who are inside the costliest cars in town. I also showed him some of my mates who are inside the costliest caskets in town. He showed me the fat bank account of some of my friends and I showed him the hospital bills of some others who are terribly sick. He reminded me of many of my weaknesses I have failed to convert to strength and I reminded him of how the Lord has helped me improve comparatively. He reminded me of the financial loss and mess I found myself due to my gross disobedience and I reminded him that my God remains the God of restoration who is well able to recover my wasted years.
He reminded me of the impact this year’s pandemic had on my career and I reminded him of the ever faithfulness of God in it all. He reminded me of some of my failures and I reminded him of many of my blessings by counting them one by one. He asked me if God was a good God why then should He permit bad things happen to good people and I reiterated that God’s ways are past searching out because in His divine curriculum, all things work together for the good of all those who are called according to His purpose. Satan felt broken and wanted to leave me alone. But I told him to follow me to just one place. I took him to the mortuary and I showed him many who are lying down there naked and dead. I told him, “only the living can think of tomorrow”.
He could not say anything again. He left me and ran away. Friends, don’t let anything get you depressed. You are not a mistake, and you are not an accident. No matter what has happened to you or how bad you think you are faring in life, there is always something God is doing in your life that your enemies are envying. There are many things to draw from God and thank Him for in your life. Joy is your ATM card. Without joy, you will draw nothing. That is why Nehemiah, when in the midst of battles was still able to say: “The joy of the Lord is my strength”. Brethren, time is tickling and the year is coming to an end. Please refuse to be despaired. Has Year 2020 been challenging? Still thank God because it could have been worse.
Quote: If only you can think deep, you will surely thank God.
Prophetic Decree: I cast out every voice of defeat and depression, in Jesus name.
