Bible Reading: Psalm 37: 37-38

Friends, this life is a mystery. There is a story of a top legal luminary who owned a very big law chamber. He was a voice amongst several voices in the law profession. He was highly respected. He had asset in money, connections and properties. Unfortunately, immediately he died trouble began to brew particularly in his own nuclear family. Mind you, he was a monogamist and not a polygamist. When you critically examine such a story with the eyes of your spirit, you know something is definitely wrong somewhere. His children began to fight filing several law suits against one another on who to get what.

A quick digression. If you are reading this devotional and all you want in life is to inherit what your father laboured for, you need to go for a mental deliverance. There is nothing wrong inheriting your father’s properties but it mustn’t be either by hook or by crook. With God, you can surpass his achievements because the glory of the latter house must be greater than the former. Let’s go back to our original line of thought. Don’t you think the foundation of that stupendous wealth of the late legal luminary was founded on unrighteousness? There are many herbalists in three-piece suit. There are many professionals that are occultic.

Haven’t you heard of professionals who drink the bathing water of new born babies? Beloved, what legacy are you leaving for your generation yet unborn. Of what use is building an empire or a dynasty while you are alive but cannot be sustained immediate after your demise? In some families, the only name that was ever heard was their grandfather’s. After his demise, the glory of the family died. Heaven shall be full of surprises. Be careful of what you do today. Be careful of how you live today. Be careful of what covenant you enact today. There is no success without a good successor.

Quote: Don’t be quick to say anyone is a success until you have seen four generations after him.

Prophetic Decree: Any man or woman using your family glory shall die a violent death, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus 

1. I recover my original destiny, in the name of Jesus.

2. I come out from the evil umbrella of my father’s house, in Jesus name

3. Any evil family umbrella denying me of the rain of blessings, catch fire and roast to ashes, in Jesus name.

4. Let the mercy of God speak over the families of children whose destinies have been sacrificed by parental strongmen, in Jesus name.

5. I reject unholy wealth. I will not die for my family to scatter, in Jesus name.
