Bible reading: Num. 20:1-13

Memory Verse: “Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals “Numbers 20:8.

The fourth manifestation of Moses’ anger is in Num.20:1-13. This is Moses’ last recorded eruption of temper. He was Israel’s leader for forty years. Much of the time, the Israelites complain due to a lack of faith and disobedience to God. As a result, the people died in the wilderness. Joshua, Caleb, and Moses escaped this Divine judgment.

When they arrived “the wilderness of Zin,” south of the Promised Land, the people found no food or water to drink, there they complained again. Moses got fed up with them; frustration and scars from deep and unresolved anger led to impulsive choices.

Moses was to give honour to God by speaking to the rock, but he was indignant. When people are angry and out of control, they act unreasonably. Moses’ anger was out of control. He gathered the assembly around the designated rock, where God would demonstrate His grace. Daily we must allow God heal our past angry moments.

Quote: You will have yourself to blame if anger prevents you from your inheritance.

Prophetic Word: I command every work of anger in your life to die in Jesus name.

Prayer points:

  1. My Father, heal the scars of my yesterday’s anger so that it will not destroy my today and tomorrow, I Jesus name.
  2. I blot out every negative family history of anger written concerning my life, in Jesus name.
  3. Blood of Jesus, flush my physical and spiritual gene of anger, in the name of Jesus.
  4. The people God has given me unto me to lead shall not provoke me against God, in Jesus name.
