Scripture Reading:                    Ephesians 5:15

Memory verse for the week:   Psalm 103: 1-2

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

A truant is defined as a student who stays away from school without permission or a person who neglects his/her duty. This is a vagabond anointing.

I watched furiously as I saw a young lady dressed in her school uniform walk leisurely in a motor park few weeks ago around 8:30am when she’s meant to be seated in the classroom for her first period of the day.

Emeka left his the classroom just before the Mathematics teacher came in. Why?  He hates Maths. He went to the back of the school to play game on his android phone which he had sneaked out of the house. Hey… You don’t develop interest in a subject by missing classes. You have to work always on it with the help of your friends. Tell your Parents to pay for your extra classes if they can afford it. The famous Dr Ben Carson was once a failure in elementary school. Today, he is a successful Medical consultant and a retired surgeon. He kept trying until He became great.

Some students in the boarding house sneak out of the hostel to go satisfy their youthful lust- smoking, partying, prostituting etc., when they are meant to be in various reading group and extra classes in preparation for their WAEC. Stop it!

Our Lord and perfect saviour, Jesus Christ in John 9:4 say, “We must do the works of Him who sent me while there is daylight. Night is coming on, when no one can work.” (WNT). Now is the time you can lay a solid foundation for your life, career and destiny. Grab it with all sense of seriousness.

ACTION WORD:       STOP MISSING CLASSES.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. I bind every spirit of truancy in the name of Jesus.

Spirit of self discipline, my life is available; enter me now, in the name of Jesus
