Bible Reading: Job 8:7

Memory VerseYour future will be brighter by far than your pastJob 8:7 (CEV)

Daddy Mike Bamiloye said: When I got married, I didn’t have any money to take my wife to honeymoon. We stayed in the house that we just rented. No money for honeymoon. It was my big sister that rented the flat for me so that I would not bring my wife to her house. It was my best man that bought my suit and shirt so that I could wear the same thing with him. It was my sister-in-law that graciously bought the shoes and socks that I wore on my wedding day.

Gloria and I went around to see where we could rent a wedding gown. When we got to the place, we told them we would come back with the money. Thereafter, a sister in our ministry gave us the money to deposit for sow a wedding gown.

I took my wife to the Registry to ask about Court marriage and they told us the money to pay for the event, it was a very small amount of money. It was around N170.00 (one hundred and seventy naira). But, we could not get the money, so we collected their forms and never returned with it.

We had our wedding without a Government Marriage Certificate from the registry until about six years ago when and Embassy demanded for it. All the money we got on our wedding day was used to settle the debts of the printer who printed our wedding programs and other things. So, two days after our wedding, we had no money on us again. The following Saturday we had a drama ministration in Ilesha, Osun State, and we stood beside the road looking for “lift” to ministration venue.

But here we are sponsored by grace. I thank God I did not marry a lady who would put me on unwarranted pressures and unnecessary constraints. Glory be to God for GLORIA!

Lessons from this testimony

1. Let pleasing God and not ambition, self, family and people be at the centre of your marriage from Day 1.

2. Ensure uniformity of purpose: Both parties need to know what is in the heart of God for the union and vigorously pursue it.

3. Leave your size per time: Don’t be under any pressure to impress anybody. Be truthful to yourself.

4. Be humble: Many are not financially buoyant, yet at the same time, they are not rightly disposed to receiving help. They’re arrogant even in their helplessness.

5. Keep the vision of your union ever burning: Though your beginning may be small….

6. Always look back to give thanks.

QuoteProvided God is in your marital boat; all shall be well.

Prophetic Decree: May the author of marriage establish your union on a Rock that never fail, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. I receive the humility to walk with God unashamedly in my marital journey, in Jesus name.

2. O Lord, please prepare me for my spouse, in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, please adequately prepare my spouse for me, in Jesus name.

4. The Oil of joy and gladness shall not run dry in my marriage, in Jesus name.

5. Marital turbulence, anti- marriage altars, marital troubles, disappear from my life, in Jesus name.
