Bible Reading: Exodus 18: 13-27

Memory Verse:  Everyone agrees a person who gives a blessing is greater than the one who receives the blessing. Hebrews 7:7 (CEV)

Though your spiritual father may be more anointed than you, God may decide not to reveal certain things about you to him at a particular time. I believe God sometimes move this way to help our heart stay only on Him. A man was about to start ministry in a particular town. He went to meet his father in the Lord for prayers.

He simply prayed and commissioned him for the assignment. God came back to tell the man that the address of his assignment is wrong and he had to change location though he had started work in the wrong location. But why didn’t God tell his father in the Lord when he prayed? That is why He is God. He chooses to speak or reveal His will only when He so desires. On the other hand, on a particular day, this father in the Lord had a vision about this same son of his in the middle of the night.

Guess what? He traveled that same night to His son’s private residence in another town to pray for him in order to break the power of death and hell over his life. Before then, the son had no hint about the disaster the devil had programmed on that same day for him. He was appointed to die that day. Can you see this God? What a sovereign God we serve. Today, he is still alive serving the counsel of God because a spiritual oversight saw it ahead of time.

The Cross of Jesus is made up of both a vertical and an horizontal sign. So it is with anybody that must fulfill his destiny. Keep your personal relationship (vertical relationship) with God intact while you also harness your relationship with fellow men (horizontal relationship). God can always choose to reach out to you either ways or both ways. Speak Lord in whatever way it pleases You as we hearken unto You.
