Scripture Reading: Genesis 14:1 -14.
Memory verse for the week: Isaiah 30: 21
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. (NKJV)
The game of soccer started primitively in China during the 2nd & 3rd centuries BC. A lot has changed since then. Today, two teams of 11 players each are to run about one round leather in two halves of 45minutes each. The two teams are expected to use their collective skill, converting the error of the opponent into a goal. The number of goals determines who wins a match.
No one member of the team can successfully do it alone. Imagine a player who is the striker, defender, midfielder and at the same the goal keeper. That must be voodoo in action…lol !
Such is life my beloved! Are you a team player at home & in school? Do you just sit back on the cushion as the first son of the house and watch your siblings do the house chores?
Did you play an active role in the last project your teacher gave your group in Integrated Science, Physics, or Biology? Some students watch as they allow the ‘efficos’ do all the work. They later come back scrambling for their names to be written as a full participant in the group work. This attitude is not Christ-like. 1 Cor.10:31.
Jesus our role model had a 12-man team whom He named His disciples. Mat 20:17. He developed and nurtured them as they took the message of Salvation to the ends of the earth. Abraham had a special team of 318 trained servants born in his own house that he deployed to rescue his nephew, Lot. Gen.14:14.
Coffee never knew that it would taste so nice and sweet, before it met milk and sugar. We are good as individuals but become better when we meet and blend with the right people. No man is an Island. Develop a team spirit.
ACTION WORD: TOGETHER WE STAND, DIVIDE WE FALL.
PRAYER POINT:
- I receive grace to be a team player in the name of Jesus.
- I rebuke every spirit of intolerance in me in the name of Jesus.
