DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post March

Bible reading: Ephesians 6:10-19.

Memory verse:  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12(NKJV)

As said yesterday, the original writer of the hymn “It is well with my soul” is Horatio Spafford. I perceive we should look into the numerous tragedies surrounding his life with the eyes of a Prophet.

There was a satanic rage over his life using the following methods:

  1. Financial & Career paralysis
  2. Premature death.
  3. Crisis of faith.

A disaster is imminent when the devil ravages a life. It becomes a catastrophe when you watch the devil destroy your life doing little or nothing.

There is a season in the life of every great man called “the hour of darkness ” (Luke 22:53). You don’t sit down watching sheepishly in this period of your life. You, like R.G LeTourneau should locate your prophet and offer ‘intense prayers’ unto God.

It was never recorded that Bro Horatio Spafford engaged the ministry of warfare prayers during this spontaneous disaster in his life, career and family.

Yes, he had great faith in God. His hope was built in God. He was full of faith to the extent of being inspired to write a hymn that has continuously blessed generations.

By faith are we saved through grace (Eph.2:8). Nevertheless, faith alone doesn’t inherit God’s promises (Heb 6:12). The Bible encourages to keep adding other spiritual virtues to our faith in God (2 Peter 1:4-8). One of such virtues is Prophetic prayers. The devil has no regard for your spiritual track record. Engage him in a spiritual fight when he comes into your life as a mighty flood before he turns your life into shreds. You won’t perish because of lack of knowledge.

Quote: Put the devil where he belongs; under the sole of your feet. Fight the good fight of faith.

Prophetic Prayers:  Your prosperity will not turn to misfortune, in Jesus name.

Prayer points

  1. Hear me devil, my destiny is not for sale, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Father, empoer me in your strength to fight a good fight of faith, in Jesus name.
  3. Powers assigned to steal my joy, die, in Jesus name.
  4. Deliverance fire, fall upon my spiritual altar, in the name of Jesus.

Life is not just about what you achieve, it’s about what you master. Before God can trust you with influence, impact, or increase, He watches how well you can govern yourself. It was Apostle Arome Osayi who said: "The first thing that a young adult must be exposed to is mastery over appetite...
