BE YOUR BROTHER’S KEEPER

BE YOUR BROTHER’S KEEPER

Bible Reading: Matthew 22: 36-40

Memory Verse:  The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].’ Matthew 22:39 (AMP)

We cannot continue to stab our fellow soldiers at their back in the Christendom. One reason why there is no protective covering for our backs amongst the armour of faith is simply because God expects soldiers of the Cross to cover one another’s back. A worker came to meet his pastor. “Sir, I am dying of guilt. I gave the devil a chance into my life. I was careless with a counselee on a particular day until I lost my guard and fell into the sin of fornication”.

Don’t forget it was the brother who walked into the Pastor’s office to confess his sins after the Holy Ghost had convicted him. Guess what the Pastor did? In one of the services when the whole Church was full, he openly announced to the whole congregation what this dear brother did, and afterwards, suspended him indefinitely as a worker. Beloved, I think that is rather immature. 2 Corinthians 7:10 (NKJV) says, “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.” To make matters worse, they didn’t follow him up in order to restore him back to the fold but left him to the wolves to be destroyed. Be sure the devil will take advantage of such situations.

The brother never came back to Christ. May we encounter the love of Christ. May we encounter the love that leaves the 99 for the only one missing sheep. What an amazing love! If you were the only one on earth, do you know that Jesus would have still come to die for your sins? Stop backstabbing an already dying soldier. Campus fellowship executives, Christian leaders, and church superintendents should all ask for godly wisdom in melting out appropriate discipline, and above all restitution to those that have fallen. What will you gain losing a soul Jesus died for because of your envy, selfishness, or carelessness?

Caution: Today’s message is not a license to willful sin. One sin especially against one’s body could silence your destiny. Be warned. Sin stinks. Sin sinks. Sin opens the door to satanic attack.
