Bible Reading: Matthew 7: 15-20

Memory Verse:  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24 (KJV)

Discovering young talents and maximizing them to the glory of God is one of our duties in the body of Christ. Our leaders must not only discover such talents, they must also mature and nourish them into the fullness of Christ. The character must go with the anointing, gifting and talent. Unfortunately, the body of Christ keeps losing some of her finest talents to the world perhaps due to our carelessness or lackadaisical attitude. Last year, a 17-year-old Nigerian warmed people’s hearts on social media with her angelic voice after hopping on a beat and singing beautifully well. Pronto, one of Nigerian ace music producer signed the young teenager into his record label. Question: Where were Christian music producers who could harness this awesome talent to the glory of God before circular producers hijacked her? Oh, I hope someone is not saying, “Afterall, she doesn’t attend my Church”.

Brethren, there are no denominations in heaven. We are all servants of the Most High God working for our Master on different plantations. Before writing this devotional, I saw the strange “radical transformation” that has taken place in the life of this talented teenager. Obviously, something has gone awfully wrong somewhere. Like someone wrote: “May God bless and prosper her. I prefer her former look. Her talent is her voice, and her grass to grace story is her appeal. I hope those managing her don’t strip her of that undefiled innocence we saw barely a month ago. That unspoilt, pure innocence is her ticket to the top! There are so many artistes with sex appeal. That field is crowded…” Christians, Christian music producers, Head of Churches, well meaning individuals, and the body of Christ as a whole, shall we wake up to a clarion call? This generation of teenagers and youths need to be mentored more than ever before. Imagine if God did not rescue the likes of Mercy Chinwo, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, Frank Edwards and even Panam Percy Paul when the wolves came in sheep clothes with juicy contacts, connections and fame? This is a clarion call. #GreaterGloryToTheBodyOfChrist.

Quote:  If you don’t guard it, you could lose it.

Prophetic Decree: Let the hammer of the Lord fall on wasters of God’s grace in the lives of brooding talents, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. The God of all grace, I salute Your majesty.

2. My talents shall not be wasted, in the name of Jesus.

3. My glory shall not fall into the wrong hands, in Jesus name.

4. O Lord, rescue our innocent teenagers from the mouth of wolves in sheep clothes who exploit their innocence, while merchandizing their talents, in Jesus name.

5. O Lord, raise up the generation of Phinehas and Joseph of Arimathea, who will not watch things go wrong in their generation, in Jesus name.
