Bible Reading: Matthew 5: 13-16

Memory VerseYour light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (NASB)

We all need Christians in various spheres of influence. Be challenged:

1. Religion: Billy Graham was an Evangelist and pastor to many U.S. presidents. He preached the Gospel to over 200 million people worldwide; adviser to 12 U.S. Presidents. His ministry helped preserve biblical values in modern American society. His life was a testament of influence through purity, humility, and consistent truth in God’s Word.

2. Education: Dr. Benjamin Carson is a Neurosurgeon, Christian speaker, former U.S. Secretary of Housing. He promoted academic excellence and discipline. His Carson Scholars Fund has awarded over 10,000 scholarships. He advocated for character and faith in education. His personal story is a testament of God-given intellect and discipline to transform education.

3. Arts & Entertainment: Tyler Perry is an actor, director, and producer with strong Christian values. He openly shares his Christian faith in interviews and integrates redemptive themes in his films. He’s built one of the largest film studios in the U.S. Indeed, faith-driven storytelling can impact culture and break stereotypes.

4. Business: S. Truett Cathy is the founder of Chick-fil-A (an American fast-food restaurant chain). He built a multi-billion-dollar company on Christian value. He doesn’t open for work on Sundays, promotes servant leadership, funds youth and charity programs. His life teaches that kingdom values can thrive in competitive business when rooted in integrity.

5. Media: Lord John Reith, the first Director-General of BBC. He was a Christian and intentionally used the BBC to promote moral and spiritual values. For decades, the BBC aired morning and evening Christian devotions, Sunday worship services, and  Thought for the Day (still continues). The tone of early broadcasts was respectful to Christian tradition, unlike today’s secular shift.

6. Arts & Entertainment: Sinach, a Global gospel artist; known for “Way Maker”. Her music has crossed denominations and countries, played even in secular events. It promotes hope, healing, and faith in Christ through worship music. She raises young gospel artists through mentorship and music ministry.

7. Government: Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is the first female President in Africa. She’s a Nobel Peace Prize winner. Though from a Methodist background, she promoted reconciliation, justice, and national prayer days. She championed women’s rights, anti-corruption reforms, and post-war rebuilding.

Challenge: Anywhere God places you is your pulpit. Make a positive influence for God therein.

QuoteYour job becomes your pulpit, your performance becomes your platform, and the marketplace becomes your parish – Bill Winston.

Prophetic Decree: Receive grace for visibility and kingdom influence in the marketplace, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for a shift in our mentality, in Jesus name.

2. I receive the grace of God to understand my role in societal transformation, in Jesus name.

3. We receive grace as Christians to influence government and politics for Jesus.

4. We break limiting mindset and inadequate knowledge that has held us captive as Christians, in Jesus name.

5. Lord, raise up Christian influencers in family, politics, art and entertainment, media, business, religion, and education, in Jesus name.

WHEN FAITH MEETS REAL NEEDS

Let's be clear on this: The primary responsibility of the Church is to lead people to Christ. This is otherwise called salvation. However, transformation within should result in transformation withal because faith without action is dead. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the long run, the Church is the principal agent...
