Bible reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:3–4.

Memory Verse: But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Ephesians 5:3(NIV)

It is important to note that we are Christians. The Bible remains our only standard. We are not free thinkers, or rational beings or moralist or mere psychologist. Such could use various ways to justify their claims against the standard of Christ.

Lie 1: Some will protest that when they masturbate it is merely a physical act, something done to relieve stress or boredom

God’s Perspective: Your body is not a toy, if you must relieve yourself of stress then you go to the gym, take a walk or do some exercise. God is very concerned about the way we use our body. 1 Cor.6:20 (NLT) says, “For God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”

Lie 2: For those who plan to wait until marriage to have sex, masturbation can be a healthy way of dealing with natural sexual desire while single.

God’s Perspective: Can you masturbate to the point of orgasm without lust being a part of that experience? Matthew 5:27-28 (NLT) says, “You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

Lie 3: Masturbation can be an excellent way for individuals to learn the uniqueness of their bodies and how they experience pleasure, which can then be communicated to a spouse.

God’s perspective: Why must you sample an orange before it ever gets ripe? Surely, you won’t taste the real thing! Such is it when you get involved with masturbation and other sexual vices e.g. Pornography. You’re rubbing your spirit with the evil spirit of sexual demons. Beloved, everything is spiritual.

In addition, many of those ungodly sexual films are performed by men and women under the influence of drugs. Your future partner mayn’t be able to act like them. This could be the beginning of bedroom problems between your partner and you. Be careful of the seeds you sow today into your future.

Quote: Any door God is yet to open for you, keep it closed. Christian Marriage is the only true door to experiencing and communicating genuine sexual pleasure.

Prophetic Word: Every lie from the pit of hell shall not prevail over your destiny, in Jesus name

Prayers: Repent of all sexual sins, and plead the Blood of Jesus 21 times before you pray these prayers

1. I cast out every sexual demon, in Jesus name.
2. Holy Spirit, come upon me, power of the Most High, overshadow me, in Jesus name
3. I break the yoke of masturbation, in the name of Jesus.
