Bible Reading: 1 kings 18: 19-46

Memory VerseBut ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me… Acts 1:8 (KJV)

Christianity is not an intellectual religion but a demonstration of divine life. Power authenticates your claim of intimacy with God. Without it, your message is theory. 1 Corinthians 4:20 says, “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” Today, let’s look at the subject of power from three other subheadings:

3. The Price of Power

Know for sure that:

I. Intimacy with God is the Pathway to Power: The apostles waited in prayer for ten days before Pentecost. Power is not a gift; it is a trust. God does not empower strangers. God invests power in those who have died to self and walk in consecration. The Holy Spirit releases power where there is alignment and obedience. Acts 10:38 says “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power…”

II. Power is the Proof of a Living Altar: If you want divine power, you must pay the price in the secret place — prayer, fasting, obedience, and consecration. Power is never cheap. If your altar is alive, power will flow. If your altar is cold, your life will be ordinary. Altars represent your secret place. A believer who prays deeply, fasts consistently, and communes with God will inevitably generate spiritual power. James 5:16 says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

III. Power can be imparted from a vessel more anointed to a vessel less anointed: Elisha followed Elijah until he received a double portion of his spirit (2 Kings 2:9–10). Power requires hunger, holiness, and humility. God entrusts His power to vessels He can trust.

4. The Preservation of Power:

Many once anointed men lost power through compromise (e.g., Samson in Judges 16). Power fades when purity is neglected. The Holy Spirit stays where holiness is maintained. Guard your heart. Avoid pride and sin. Stay connected to God through constant fellowship and obedience.

5. The Product of Power

When true power comes, the results are undeniable — souls are saved, the sick are healed, demons flee, and nations are transformed. The weak become bold, and ordinary men do extraordinary things (Acts 4:13). Don’t just admire God’s power in others, desire it, pursue it, and let it manifest through you. The world is waiting for believers who carry divine fire.

QuotePower is not optional. It is the evidence that God has found expression through a man. Until we are clothed with power, we cannot represent Him.

Prophetic Decree: Let fresh power and fire as of the day of Pentecost come upon your head, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Ashes on my prayer altar, be blown off, in the name of Jesus.

2. Lord, fill me with Your power. Let my life be a living proof of Your presence.

3. O Lord, please make me a channel of revival, healing, and salvation to my generation, in Jesus name.

4. Lord, baptise me afresh with Your power. Let Your fire burn in me until I become an extension of Your hand upon the earth, in Jesus name.

5. Ease to live a life of daily consecration as the Spirit pleases, overshadow my life, in Jesus name.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (1)

The Quiet Destroyers are otherwise known as Secret Sins That Ruin Destiny. Many destinies have not been destroyed by loud sins, but by quiet ones. The sins nobody sees. The ones people excuse. The ones hidden behind reputation, ministry, intelligence, or success. Yet heaven sees them clearly. The Bible says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Secret sins do not remain secret forever. They slowly weaken the soul until a man who once carried promise begins to lose weight in the spirit...

THE DANGER OF SECRET SIN

Bro. Gbile Akanni once shared a sobering story that has stayed in my heart for many years. He spoke about an elderly evangelist whom God used mightily in the past. In those days there was no television, only radio. When this man of God preached, people would gather around their radios. Sometimes he would say, “Place your hand on the radio.”...
