Bible Reading: Romans 12: 1-2

Memory Verse:  Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you2 Corinthians 6:17 (NLT)

In the Bible the word consecration means “the separation of oneself from things that are unclean, especially anything that would contaminate one’s relationship with a perfect God.” Consecration also carries the connotation of sanctification, holiness, or purity. When last did you have a 3-6 hours personal vigil?

When last did you have a solid quiet time that last longer than 45 minutes? When last did you go on a personal fast? Why are you so addicted to social media, pornography, masturbation, etc? Your sex life cannot be tamed even in marriage? You want power but you are not willing to pay the price of consecration; you are not willing to invest spiritually. You need to consecrate your mouth from talkativeness and bad slangs.

Consecrate your eyes from watching porn. Consecrate your nose from sniffing hard drugs. Consecrate your ears from hearing ungodly music. Consecrate your skin from making unholy touch, contacts and dressing seductively. Consecrate your heart from thinking and devising evil. If you can’t pay the price of consecration required by “everyday believer”, how much more when the Spirit of God begins to make greater demands from you. Wake up and let your destiny count. Go deeper in your consecration to the Lord.

The Bible tells believers to be a holy people, separate from the world: “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 6:17). Being consecrated is a critical component in our relationship to God and to those in the world. Paul tells us in Romans 12:1-2 that as true believers in Christ, the act of consecration involves our lives being a living sacrifice to Him; we are totally separated from the defilement of the world. Each day, we are to live out our lives as a “holy” and “royal” priesthood to the glory of God, for we are now God’s people (1 Peter 2:9-10).

Quote:

I. Revelation is the first step to holiness, and consecration is the second. A day must come in our lives, as definite as the day of our conversion, when we give up all right to ourselves and submit to the absolute Lordship of Jesus Christ – Watchman Nee

II. True success in this life comes in consecrating our lives—that is, our time and choices—to God’s purposes. In so doing, we permit Him to raise us to our highest destiny – D. Todd.

Prophetic Decree: May every of your fibre be consecrated unto the Lord, in Jesus name.
