Bible Reading: Philippians 3:14

Memory Verse:  I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 (ESV)

May the fire of consistency fall upon your altar, in Jesus name. Hard truth be said: Only the consistent obtain the prize. Ingenuity is not a sure guarantee for success. Until you consistently persevere, you may have the potential of an atomic bomb but end up as a knockout.

What is consistency? This is the ability to continuously pursue a thing (be it a task, vision, project, resolution, etc) despite daunting challenges or ease until the goal is achieved. Consistency is the quality of always behaving or performing in a similar way. Can you cast your mind back to how you learnt the alphabets, how you perfected your keyboard or football skills? You consistently practised it again and again under a tutor until you mastered it.

Unfortunately, many have not imbibed the virtue of consistency in their walk with God. No one amount to anything serious without being consistent. Your Quiet time has been haphazard and unstructured. Don’t you know that there was a particular time of the day when God daily met with Adam in the garden of Eden? Yes, at the cool of the day! Adam had a consistent Quiet time with God daily in Eden (Genesis 3:8).

No wonder you have remained  a perpetual candidate of deliverance. When you are on fire for God, the enemy flee, and when you grow cold due to your inconsistency in daily fellowship with God, the enemy comes again to sow tares into the garden of your life.

The gymnast, Simone Biles won her first World all-round title in Year 2013 at age 16. She consistently improved herself until she won her sixth World all-round title in Year 2023 coincidentally at the same place, Antwerp, in Belgium. She has been consistent for 10 straight years.

If for a earthly medal she buffeted her body consistently, how much more you, for an eternal medal? How has your evangelical life been? Hope you are not getting too busy? You are busy does not always mean you are making progress in life. Receive fresh fire for a consistent work with God, in Jesus name.

Challenge: Make up your mind to spend minimum of one hour CONSISTENTLY with God everyday and see what your life becomes in three months. Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway — Earl Nightingale

Quote:  Just stick with it. What seems so hard now will one day be your warm up — Anonymous.
