Bible Reading: Ephesians 5: 25-33

Memory Verse…and the wife [must see to it] that she respects and delights in her husband [that she notices him and prefers him and treats him with loving concern, treasuring him, honoring him, and holding him dear]. Ephesians 5:33b (AMP)

WIVES:

1. A man draws his strength from his wife. Once his wife stands by, and with him, he will feel safe. Any married man that doesn’t look forward to retiring to his wife’s arms after a tough day, is an unhappy man. Some men only go home just to sleep and run out the next day.

2. The number one thing your husband requires of you is honour/respect. Even if you are more financially stable than him, don’t deny him of his much needed respect.

3. Don’t take it for granted. Men are moved by what they see. Keep wooing him in your dressing, home management, organization skills, etc. Don’t lose your guard even after having many children.

4. Even after six decades in marriage, don’t stop cooking for your husband. One of the channels to the heart of man is his mouth.

5. No matter how busy he could be or how anointed he seems to be, a man doesn’t joke with sexual intimacy. Keep your sexual fire burning.

TO THE HUSBANDS AND WIVES:

1. Don’t totally outsource parenting your children. Take it as a personal responsibility. Your children are your personal responsibilities; not somebody else’s responsibilities.

2. Focus on the good side of your spouse and patiently mature his/her weaknesses in love. There is no perfect marriage.

3. Erect a personal altar. Erect a marital altar. Pray together. Study the Word of God together. Marriage is about the sharing of lives.

4. No matter how godly your spouse is, there will be one thing you still have to tolerate because we are all humans. Keep growing together. However, major weaknesses must be addressed in love.

5. Have spiritual covering over your marriage. Both of you must have someone you submit to.

Assignment: Couples, please do well to watch the film, “Project Steve”. It is available on YouTube

Quote: Successful marriage is a result of a man who has decided to be blind and a woman who has chosen to be dumb to faults.

Prophetic Decree: No anti-marital force shall prosper in your home, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. My marriage shall be honey on earth, in the name of Jesus.

2. Let the hand of God fall upon any Jezebel assigned against my marriage, in Jesus name.

3. I receive the spirit of understanding to know how to handle my spouse, in Jesus name.

4. Every spirit of nagging and fighting in my home, be destroyed, in Jesus name.

5. I rebuke every work of the flesh in my life and home, in Jesus name.
