Bible Reading: Psalm 71:15-17
Memory Verse: Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. Psalm 67:5-6 (MSG)
There are days when you go before the throne of heaven to lay your load of petition before God. Suddenly, the Holy Spirit ask you, “Have you tried to quantify the value of the open doors I graciously showered on you?” Then, it will dawn on you that what others paid exorbitant prices to get, Jesus gave you for free. Friends, make gratitude the first thing you do when you wake up and the last thing you do before going to bed. Do well to write down what God has done for you which money cannot buy. Sleep with gratitude and wake up in gratitude. Gratitude will change your perspective from what is not working for you to what is working in your life.
Abolaji Adeola corroborate this: Keep a record of the moments God showed up for you. The doors that opened, the strength you did not know you had, and the quiet victories no one clapped for. One day you will need to look back and remember that you did not start here. That you were carried, stretched, refined, and brought forward. Remember, this is not pride; it is preservation. Write it down, capture it, and revisit it. Gratitude grows when memory is kept!
Still on gratitude, a testimony credited to Victor Osimhen, a Nigerian football star reads: In Abuja, a kind woman who took my family in to stay with her and her husband later found out I was not eating. She encouraged me to eat and even gave me some money when I needed it. I helped by cleaning, bathing the children, and taking them to school, but I never asked her for anything. For me, just having a roof over my head already felt like a huge gift. After we won the under seventeen World Cup in Chile, I came back to look for that couple. I gave them part of the tournament money as thanks. It was not about how big the amount was, it was about honour. When people help you at your lowest point, you must not forget them when God lifts you higher. Gratitude is part of my journey.
Quote: Be grateful to God and to men He used for your lifting.
Prophetic Decree: Henceforth, no matter the challenges, you will have a reason to be grateful to God.
