Bible Reading: Daniel 5: 1-5, 24-31

Memory Verse: It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows.  Proverbs 20:25 (NIV)

To be dedicated means to be exclusively allocated to, or intended for a particular purpose. The vessels Nebuchadnezzar took away from Jerusalem had been exclusively dedicated (consecrated) to God. One day Belshazzar his son got drunk and commanded that he should be served with same.

What a destiny errror! Soon he saw an handwriting on the wall, his kingdom was taken away from him, and he died in a short while. One good lesson from this Bible story is that anything dedicated to God must be revered. Where is the fear of God in this generation?

Those stealing from the Church purse should be warned. Such a money has been dedicated to God. It has the mark of the Holy One of Israel on it.

Moreover, do you know that some of the monies dropped on the altar are prophetic seeds in exchange for life when the devil comes threatening death. What happens when you pick up such money? My answer is as good as yours. You better be warned.

If your parents ever christened you with a Christian name such as Daniel, Samuel, Esther, etc, please be extra careful. Do you know they have already dedicated you, perhaps unknowingly to them.

To put a seal on it, they brought you to the altar of the Lord after 41days or 3 months as the case may be. Now, you want to start smoking, join bad gangs, or you are toiling with sin. Remember Belshazzar, dear friend. That dedication will speak.

Abraham dedicated an altar to the Lord in Bethel which spoke for even his grandchild Jacob (Genesis 12:7; 13:4; 13:18; 22:9, 33:20; 35:1–3).

The dedication of a person, place or thing (good or evil) has the potential to speak today, tomorrow and in the generations yet unborn. Please be warned.

Quote: There is a jealousy God places over anything dedicated to Him.

Prophetic Decree: Receive your deliverance from any evil surname working against your destiny, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Sing a song of dedication: Unto Jesus, blessed saviour I surrender Lord.

2. Any evil unconscious dedication done by my parents speaking against my destiny, be cancelled by the power in the Blood of Jesus.

3. Holy Spirit, please open my eyes to the mysteries surrounding my name, in Jesus name.

4. Any altar speaking woe against my life, be broken, in Jesus mighty name.

5. Today, I repent and rededicate my life to the holy altar of the Lord, in Jesus name.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (1)

The Quiet Destroyers are otherwise known as Secret Sins That Ruin Destiny. Many destinies have not been destroyed by loud sins, but by quiet ones. The sins nobody sees. The ones people excuse. The ones hidden behind reputation, ministry, intelligence, or success. Yet heaven sees them clearly. The Bible says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Secret sins do not remain secret forever. They slowly weaken the soul until a man who once carried promise begins to lose weight in the spirit...

THE DANGER OF SECRET SIN

Bro. Gbile Akanni once shared a sobering story that has stayed in my heart for many years. He spoke about an elderly evangelist whom God used mightily in the past. In those days there was no television, only radio. When this man of God preached, people would gather around their radios. Sometimes he would say, “Place your hand on the radio.”...
