Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 6:6 (AMP)
Memory Verse: Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6 (NKJV)
Dr. Charles Apoki said desperation is a state of hopelessness and helplessness that often leads to recklessness. Desperation is a state of despair; typically one which results in rash or extreme behaviour. Anyone desperate does not usually think straight. They act irrationally without care or caution. Many times, their actions always end in regret.
A young lady who is desperate to get married wouldn’t care even if she is a third wife. All she is concerned about is the title of “Mrs” in front of her name. Few years down the line, she soon starts to regret why she didn’t wait patiently for the best of God for her life. Why should you marry late and marry wrong at the same time? Desperation!
As elections draw near in certain countries, you begin to see and experience strange things. The rate of kidnapping, ritual killings, occultic sacrifices, etc, increases. Question: Must you become the next governor, senator, local government chairman, etc, either by hook or by crook? Don’t you know that if you struggle to enter such an office, you will struggle to stay there? Why should you lose your peace, sanity and above all, heaven because of a mere electoral position? Desperation!
When you see teenagers and young adults die mysteriously in their prime you wonder why? They are desperate to acquire asset and properties their parents spent decades to acquire in few months. It started with Yahoo, then Yahoo plus, and now, Yahoo plus plus. Imagine these abominations: A teenager sleeping with his mother. Teenagers liaising with hired assassins to kill their parents in order to acquire their properties. Young adults eating faeces in broad day light on the street for money ritual. Young adults bathing in broad day light in the cemetery. Mysterious disappearance of students from the University. Proliferation of exotic cars by young chaps who know little or nothing about business. All these points to only one thing: Desperation!
Counsel: Live your size per time. Nothing this world offers is worth dying for. Refuse to stain your hands in human blood (Psalm 24:4)
Quote: The opposite of desperation is contentment.
Prophetic Decree: You will not miss the mark in your quest for greatness, in Jesus name.
