DIFFERENT WAYS BY WHICH THE GOD SPEAKS (3)

DIFFERENT WAYS BY WHICH THE GOD SPEAKS (3)

DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post August

Sunday, 14th August, 2016.

Scripture Reading:                    Acts 11: 1-18.

Memory verse for the week:  Hebrews 1:1-2.

Long ago God spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son. God has appointed Him heir of all things and made the universe through Him. (HCS)

Good morning teen. I’m sure you are excited that God has been speaking to you though many atimes, you weren’t too sensitive. Don’t worry; as Christ lives, you shall perfect the art of hearing from God. Today, we shall continue from where we stopped yesterday.

5)   Through Visions / Trance: Visions are audio-visual means of communication from  God to Man when a man is fully awake. When a man is in a trance, he is neither awake nor asleep. He is said to be in a sub-conscious state!

  • Ananias was told by the Lord in a vision to go and meet Saul (Acts 9:10-16).
  • Peter fell into a trance in which God revealed to him that he was to take the gospel to the Gentiles. (Acts 10:9-16)
  • Paul saw a vision directing him to go to Macedonia (Act 16:9).
  • God gave Apostle Paul directions in a vision in Jerusalem.(Acts 22:17-21)
  • Ezekiel had a vision of dry bones (Eze.37:1).

6)   Through Prophesy: During a Christian service or gathering, the Holy Spirit could fall upon an individual usually during worship or prayer session as the person brings the Word of God to the Church. The Holy Spirit spoke this way as Paul and Barnabas were being commissioned in Acts 13:2.

7) Through a still small voice e.g. The Holy Spirit told Peter to follow the men from Caesarea. Acts 11:12. Also, God spoke to Elijah in a still small voice. 1kings 19:12.

  • Through an Audible Voice: e.g. God spoke audibly to Saul from heaven on his way to persecuting Christians in Damascus. Acts 9:4-5.
  • Through the advice and counsels of men and women of God. Prov.12:15, Jer. 3:15.
  • Through other circumstances: In worship songs, in small group discussions, a picture, a silent smile, through our Christian Parents, guardian and teachers, a magazine, an article, drama presentations, choreography, Christian films etc

ACTION WORD:        HEARING GOD SPEAK GIVES LIFE A DEFINED MEANING.

PRAYER POINT:

  1. I receive grace to hear God speak to me in every area of my life, in Jesus name.
  2. Holy Ghost fire, flush my spiritual pipe, in the name of Jesus.
