Bible Reading: Matthew 7:12
Memory Verse: I do not frustrate the grace of God. Galatians 2:21a (KJV)
We must appreciate the welfare department of some churches who are working tirelessly to make sure that their brethren are in a sound mind and in a healthy body. They give their time, food, clothes, and other material possessions, not forgetting money.
But, there is a need to caution some of those who use such avenues as a means of extortion. They frame all manner of lies in order to get what they consider as free or “national cakes”. Some people with two legs and two hands have simply decided not to be productive with their lives. This ought not to be so. Apostle Paul said I do not take for granted the grace of God.
Furthermore, consider a situation where a brother loaned another brother in the household of faith some money, and the borrower refused to pay back without any explanation. That’s a symbol of lack of responsibility on the defaulter. No matter what went wrong, you owe your lender an explanation. Don’t just assume God has blessed him, and why can’t he forget about the money borrowed. The next time you run into a financial trouble, don’t blame such a brother if he is unwilling to help you.
The Church is becoming volatile. Sometimes, it is more dangerous to do business with members of the same church, same house fellowship or same service group. The aftermath is always unpalatable. Please let’s learn to effectively dialogue to prevent any strain on our relationship as members of the same faith.
Shall we all walk in love and in good conscience towards one another. Do unto others as you want others to do to you (Matthew 7:12).
Have you been hurt while showing kindness to your brethren? Know for sure that your reward is with God. Don’t give up. Don’t stop loving. Don’t stop giving. Always know for sure that we are all products of God’s mercies.
Quote: Do unto others as you want others to do to you.
Prophetic Decree: Receive strength to keep loving despite the pain of disappointment, in Jesus name.
