Bible Reading: Acts 9: 1-6

Memory Verse:  When Saul had almost reached Damascus, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. Acts 9:3 (CEV)

A divine encounter is a supernatural event that leads to a personal revelation of God and a deeper understanding of who God is and what God can do. It’s said to be a transformative experience. An encounter is an unexpected meeting; an unplanned happening/event. 

Saul of Tarsus was a strong opponent of Jesus Christ, but after the encounter in Acts 9 on his way to Damascus, where a great light shined from heaven, and God accused him of kicking against His work, his focus was shifted. Then, he became a strong advocate of Jesus Christ. 

Kanu Nwankwo was a great footballer. In his journey to stardom he had a heart problem. He couldn’t play football for nine months after winning Olympic gold in 1996 when doctors discovered a hole in his heart. Then, he was at Inter Milan football club. He had a successful operation in Ohio and resumed his career.  Today, he has a heart foundation – Kanu Heart Foundation (KHF) which he established in Year 2000 to help underprivileged children and young adults in Africa who have life-threatening heart conditions.

The KHF’s mission is to “put back smiles” on the faces of the children it treats. The KHF has also arranged for open heart surgeries for 538 children in hospitals around the world.  A seemingly bad encounter birthed a vision. Indeed, God can use our pain for His glory. 

Elon Musk, adjudged as the richest man on earth was a strong supporter of the ideals of the Democratic Party in the USA until one of his children became gay. That encounter changed his value system. Xavier Musk, born in 2004, is one of Elon Musk’s children who has garnered significant attention in recent years. Xavier, now known as Vivian Jenna Wilson, made headlines when she announced her decision to transition and legally change her name, distancing herself from her famous father.

These, with other political issues, realigned Elon’s political affiliation to the Republican Party, who are against transgenderism. Friends, just one single encounter can crumble a long-aged conviction!

Quote: Something is either formed, broken, or revived by every encounter. 

Prophetic Decree:  Today, a new chapter shall open for you as a result of divine encounter, in Jesus name. 

Prayer Focus

1. Like unto Saul of Tarsus, encounter me today with a great light from heaven, in Jesus name. 

2. Lord, give me an encounter that will birth my purpose, in Jesus name. 

3. Holy Spirit, please give me an encounter that will birth a divine vision I will run with, all the days of my life, in Jesus name. 

4. Lord Jesus, give me an encounter that will make me use my resources and influence to your glory, in Jesus name. 

5. Today, I shall birth a new chapter for my destiny by the force of divine encounter, in Jesus name.
