Bible Reading: Ephesians 5: 15-20

Memory VerseSo be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Ephesians 5:15 (NLT)

Iniquity and unwise spending usually characterise this season. Wait a minute: Why should a passing season make you compromise your faith in Christ Jesus if truly Jesus is the reason for the season? As Christmas and New Year draws near, shall we further arm ourselves with the correct mindset to stand for righteousness:

4. You should, by the power of the Holy Spirit make up your mind not to go back to your vomit. Avoid those old childhood friends, old school meetings, end-of-the-year meetings, and village meetings that sparks the flames of ungodly traditions, sin and unrighteousness. Learn to say no in righteousness.  Take a bold stand for Jesus now that you are born again. Flee from every appearance of evil. No more late night club meetings. No more alcohol drinks. No more womanizing.  Stay true to your consecration. Your new found faith will cost you something today in exchange of the crown of righteousness when you win the good fight for your faith (2 Timothy 4:8).

5. If you can’t afford Disney Park for those abroad or Amusement Park for those in Africa, simply stay at home and enjoy yourself with your family. Next year shall be better by the grace of God. Your credit cards should be spent on assets and not liabilities. Kill the societal pressure that simply want you to conform to trends.

6. Will you permit me to tell you one of the secrets of great men? When others are revelling and partying, they are studying, praying, and planning. Choose to be different. Enjoy yourself in all modesty, but make sure you have a concrete plan for the new year ahead. Opportunity comes for the most favoured and the most prepared.

QuoteGodliness and contentment is great gain – 1 Timothy 6:6

Prophetic Decree: You will not end this year in sorrow, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Any remnant of the Old man in my life, be consumed by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name.

2. I receive wisdom to navigate through life, in Jesus name.

3. Holy Spirit, please baptize me with a vision that will work patience in my heart, in Jesus name.

4. I receive grace for delayed gratification, in Jesus name.

5. By the power of the Almighty, I refuse to make a costly mistake, in Jesus name.
