Bible Reading:  Matthew 28: 19 – 20

Memory VerseDo you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest. John 4:35 (NKJV)

In an age of comfort, distraction, and digital noise, the heartbeat of Heaven still echoes: “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel.” (Mark 16:15).

Yet, for many believers, the urgency of this call has been drowned by the busyness of life. The same fire that burned in the hearts of the early apostles, who risked their lives for one soul is flickering in a generation that walk past lost souls daily.

Biblical Examples of Evangelistic Zeal

IJesus and the Samaritan Woman (John 4): Jesus deliberately went out of His way to reach one woman in Samaria. That encounter sparked revival in a whole city. He didn’t wait for people to come; He went. “He must needs go through Samaria.” (John 4:4).

II. Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8:26–40): Philip left a thriving city revival in Samaria because the Spirit led him to one man on a desert road. That man carried the Gospel back to Africa. Lesson: The value of one soul is greater than the applause of a crowd.

IIIPaul’s Journeys (Acts 13–28): He was beaten, shipwrecked, imprisoned, yet unstoppable. Paul burned with this conviction. He said, “Woe is me if I preach not the Gospel.” (1 Corinthians 9:16).

Modern Day Examples of Men with Evangelical Zeal:

I. Jim Elliot and the Auca Indians: Jim and four missionaries were killed in 1956 while trying to reach the Huaorani tribe in Ecuador. His famous words still pierce hearts: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” Years later, the tribe that killed him came to Christ through the ministry of his wife, Elisabeth Elliot.

2. Reinhard Bonnke: “Africa Shall Be Saved!” Bonnke’s crusades brought tens of millions to Christ across Africa. He once said, “Hell empty, Heaven full — that’s my vision.” His obedience to one divine call transformed nations.

3. Brother Andrew: He was ‘God’s Smuggler’ during the Cold War. Brother Andrew risked his life to carry Bibles behind the Iron Curtain. His bold faith reminds us: “There is no closed country when you are led by the Holy Spirit.”

4. Modern Mission Fields: The 10/40 Window! Today, over 3 billion people have little or no access to the Gospel in regions like North Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. These are not statistics, they are souls. Many have never even heard the name of Jesus once.

Challenge: Heaven is recruiting soldiers, not spectators. The trumpet is sounding! Will you answer the call?

Quote:  The Great Commission is not a suggestion. It’s a command.

Prophetic Decree: Receive fresh fire for evangelism and missions, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Jesus for coming to die for the whole world.

2. I receive grace to lay down my life for the cause of the gospel.

3. Holy Ghost fire, burn all worldly entanglement surrounding my soul, in Jesus name.

4. Lord, break my heart with what breaks Yours. Send me to my street, my school, my workplace, my city, my nation, in Jesus name.

5. We speak peace, divine preservation, and power to work in signs and wonders upon evangelist and missionaries, in Jesus name.

SHALLOW CHRISTIANS (3)

A lot of Christians in church look for Jesus, the bread giver; they do not look for Jesus, the Way. Hence, they can't follow His ways. So, what they come to do is just receive signs and miracles and wouldn't get close to God, and as a result of this, they lose those miracles most times...
