Bible Reading:  James 1:2-4
Memory Verse:  For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of disaster and collapse. Proverbs 24:16 (AMP)

It was Harry Kierbow who wrote “7 Famous Quotes on Failure and the Stories That Inspired Them”. Therein, he wrote about 7 men that shook their world. Amongst whom are:

  1. Winston Churchill: Many know Winston Churchill as a key component of Allied victory in World War II and a driving force behind Britain’s involvement in it, but that wasn’t always the case. He was actually estranged from his political party over differing ideology in the years leading up to the war. When war broke out in 1939, he was appointed to the British admiralty, and a year later became the British Prime Minister at the age of 62. He said, “Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”
  2. Abraham Lincoln: You may be surprised to know that Abraham Lincoln failed – a lot. Here’s a brief rundown of the troubles he faced in the years leading up to his Presidency: Defeated for political office six (6) times. Lost a job. Failed in business. Death of his fiancée. Nervous breakdown. Now, that’s a list. Lincoln was never content with his failures, though, and in one of the greatest stories of persistence ever told went on to become the 16th President of the United States, guiding the country through one of the most tumultuous times of its brief history. He opined, “My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure.” – Abraham Lincoln.
  3. Thomas Edison: He must have been one restless man. Everyone’s heard his famous quote, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” But did you know that Edison was told by his teachers that he was “too stupid to learn anything”? Looks like someone misspoke. Edison would go on to patent more than 1,000 inventions, including the phonograph, incandescent light bulb, and a movie camera. He opined, “Restlessness is discontent – and discontent is the first necessity to progress. Show me a thoroughly satisfied man – and I will show you a failure.”

Quote: My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure – Abraham Lincoln.
Prophetic Decree: By the power of resurrection, come out of the grave of foundational failure, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus

  1. By the power in the Blood of Jesus, I blot out the handwriting of failure written concerning me, in Jesus name.
  2. Garment of failure upon my body, catch fire, in Jesus name.
  3. Every curse of failure issued against my destiny, be annulled by the power in the Blood of Jesus.
  4. Powers using the sun, moon and stars to trouble my glory, die, in the name of Jesus.
  5. I overturn the default setting unto failure powered by the strongman of my family, in the name of Jesus.

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...
