Bible Reading: Philippians 3: 13-14

Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.*Memory Verse*:  _Though a righteous person falls seven times, he will get up, but the wicked will stumble into ruin._ *Proverbs 24:16 (CSB)*Shall we consider four more people who failed repeatedly until they made a success out of their lives:4. Vincent van Gogh: He produced more than 2,100 pieces of art — including 860 oil paintings and more than 1,300 watercolors, drawings, sketches and prints. But here’s a bit of trivia that I was surprised to learn: He only sold one painting during his lifetime, and that was months before his death. Despite the toll his struggling art career took on him, both financially and emotionally, van Gogh continued to paint. He only sold one painting in his lifetime, just months before his death. He opined, “Even the knowledge of my own fallibility cannot keep me from making mistakes. Only when I fall do I get up again.”5. J.M. Barrie:  He suffered several setbacks right from the start. He enrolled at the University of Edinburgh to study literature. After his early works received mixed reviews, he printed the book ‘Better Dead’ at his own expense which failed. He suffered another failed comic opera before penning ‘Peter Pan’, or ‘the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up’, first performed in 1904.6. Albert Einstein: He failed his school entrance exam at age 16. It’s long been debated whether or not Albert Einstein had a learning disability, and while that may never be conclusively answered, it is a fact that he did have trouble learning and communicating in a traditional school setting – actually failing an entrance exam to the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zurich. He overcame that, however, and went on to win the Nobel prize in physics for uncovering the photoelectric effect, and his theory of relativity corrected the likes of Sir Isaac Newton. He opined, “Failure is success in progress.” 7. Walt Disney: Going to Disney is a staple growing up in America, but it’s not like Disney just walked into success. He was fired by a newspaper editor because he, “lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” He then faced a series of failures that included: Being forced to dissolve his first animation studio and living on dog food, having one of his early characters, Oswald the Rabbit, and his design team stolen from him, having his idea for Mickey Mouse turned down outrightly — he was told a giant mouse on screen would terrify women. All of this before the finally successful premiere of the now classic “Snow White.” Maybe his lack of imagination was the best thing that ever happened to him. So the next time someone says you can’t do something, don’t listen to them. He opined, “Everyone falls down. Getting up is how you learn to walk.” *Quote*:  _Everyone falls down. Few stand up. A very few stand out._*Prophetic Decree*: Powers frustrating your good efforts shall be wasted, in Jesus name. *Prayer Focus*1. I will not die before my glory appear, in the name of Jesus. 2. With a Davidic stone, I break the head of my family Goliath, in Jesus name.3. I receive grace to strive from failure to success by the power of God, in Jesus name. 4. My Father, please correct the defeatist mindset of failure in my heart, in Jesus name. *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR*: 2 Kings 12-13, 2 Chronicles 24*NEWS FLASH*Be a soul winner.
