Bible reading: 2 Peter 1:5-15

Memory Verse: We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Hebrews 6:12 NIV

The trial of our faith the Bible says produces patience in us (James 1:3). Many household problems and divorce cases occur not because the couples don’t love, but they aren’t simply patient with each other. Faith alone never inherits God’s promises; it must be accompanied with her twin brother called Patience.

King Saul had faith in the Lord but he wasn’t patient to wait for Prophet Samuel to come offer the sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:5-10). Aaron had faith in God but he hadn’t developed enough patience to wait for Moses’ return from the mountain before He made graven images for the Israelites (Exodus 32:1-6).

“Never make permanent decisions on temporary feelings.”

Ritual killings, occultism, & diabolical quest for power and money wouldn’t ever have existed if we all can add patience to our faith. The truth is that many are in a hurry. In a hurry to “make it big”, to own a house, use a posh car; use the latest i-phones and jet around the world, etc. Our generation lay so great emphasis on material wealth not regarding the source. What will take 10 years to acquire, can never be acquired genuinely in 2 months.

Proverbs 13:11(NLT) says, “Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time”. Of what use is wealth acquired which can only last but for few years. Our God is miracle worker and not a magician. There are conditions to receiving God’s blessings which He will not compromise for anyone because He is no respecter of persons.

The future does not belong to the person doing it fast; the future belongs to the person doing it right! The wealth of the wicked will always end in reproach.

Luke 21:34(KJV) says, “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares”. It is not easy to be patient considering the Adamic nature but with the help of the Holy Ghost, it is achievable. Faith like Patience is a fruit of the Spirit which the Holy Ghost works in us that we may become like Jesus. I’m praying that the Holy Ghost will baptize you with fresh baptism of love and patience, in Jesus name. Amen.

Quote: By faith you conquer nations, and by patience you subdue them.

Prophetic Word: May the Spirit of God work faith & patience in your heart, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus: 1. My Father, revive my love for your commandments, in Jesus name.

2. I receive fresh baptism of faith and patience, in Jesus name.

3. I bind the spirit of faithlessness and impatience, and I cast them out, in Jesus name.
