Bible Reading:  Heb. 12: 1-3

Memory Verse: Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.Jude 1:3

Have you heard of these names and if you have heard, how much do you know about them: Charles Wesley, Kenneth E. Hagin, Andrew Murray, Watchman Nee, Charles Finney, Finnis Dakes, Mary Slessor, Apostle Ayo Babalola, Pa Elton, Reinhard Bonke, Prophet Samson Oladeji Akande aka Baba Abiye, William J. Seymour (Azusa Street Revival), William Braham, T.L Osborne, R.W Schambach, Smith Wigglesworth (Apostle of Faith), E.W Kenyon, etc.

One thing characterizes all these God’s generals: They received specific instructions from the Lord and ran with it all the days of their lives. They are all mortal men who did great kingdom exploits in their generation. They spent and were spent for the Lord. The revelation given to some of them were too deep for an average Christian. Some had to travel many miles on horses to evangelize in their days. Some died on their knees that Christ may reign in Africa. Others sent as missionaries to Africa were beaten by mosquito leading to their poor health yet, they chose to die at their duty post. For some others, they were neglected by their families because they chose to follow Jesus, etc.

One day we shall all stand before the throne of Jesus and give account of how we lived our lives. What shall you say? What exploits are you doing for the kingdom of God in your school or locality? Does heaven recognize your sacrifice? How noble are your intentions? What made these heroes and heroine relevant is that they understood the reason for their birth and consistently pursued it in season and out of season. Go and do likewise!

THE QUIET DESTROYERS (2)

One of the greatest dangers in the life of a believer is not the sins everyone can see, but the ones that hide quietly in the heart. These sins rarely attract attention, yet they slowly drain spiritual strength and weaken a man’s destiny. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles”...
