Bible Reading: 2 Chron. 27:1-6.

Memory Verse: For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

Wilma Glodean Rudolph (June 23, 1940 –Nov. 12, 1994) was an American track and field sprinter, who competed in the 100 and 200 meters dash. Rudolph was considered the fastest woman in the world in the 1960s and competed in two Olympic Games in 1956 and 1960. That was the glory but what is her story?

By the time she was twelve years old, she had also survived bouts of polio and scarlet fever. She was born prematurely at 4.5 pounds (2.0 kg); the 20th of twenty two siblings. Her father, Ed, was a railway porter and her mother, Blanche, was a maid. Rudolph contracted infantile paralysis (caused by the polio virus) at age four. She recovered, but wore a brace on her left leg and foot (which had become twisted as a result) until she was nine. She was required to wear an orthopedic shoe for support of her foot for another two years.

Lesson 1: Wilma was from a poor or average family yet, discovered her talent and made it to the top globally. Stop complaining about your problems, pursue your future.

Lesson 2: The devil is not fighting you in particular but fighting what God has tagged yours! The devil could perceive she’s going to use her legs to achieve great feat, so, he got it paralyzed at a very young age. This is the mystery of childhood problems!

Lesson 3: Parents must guard the destinies of their children jealousy when they are young, when they are too feeble to fight for themselves.

Quote: Destiny glory is proportional to destiny opposition. Great destiny attracts great battles.

Prophetic Word: Death could not hold Jesus in captive hence, come what may, you will shine.
