Bible Reading: 1 Cor. 9:24-27

Memory Verse: But he who endures to the end shall be saved. Matthew 24:13 (NKJV)

Terrance Stanley lived between July 28, 1958 to June 28, 1981. He was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist.

In the year 1980, he had one of his legs amputated due to cancer infection, yet, he embarked on a cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research called the Marathon of Hope. He hoped to raise one dollar from each of Canada’s 24 million people. He ran the equivalent of a full marathon every day. Fox had become a national star by the time he reached Ontario; he made numerous public appearances with businessmen, athletes, and politicians in his efforts to raise money. He was forced to end his run after 143 days; running 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles), when the cancer spread to his lungs. His hope of overcoming the disease and completing his marathon ended when he died nine months later. His efforts had resulted in a lasting worldwide legacy.

The first lesson learnt is never to give up so soon. Though diagnosed of cancer, Terry gave it a good fight before his death. No matter the unpleasant situation, never give up. Secondly, he lived for others. With one of his legs amputated, Terry canvassed to raise funds not only for himself but also for other cancer patients. This is called selflessness. Terry lived for less than 23yrs on earth and has never been forgotten with many buildings, roads and parks named in his honour across Canada.

Finally, when you die, what will you be remembered for both on earth and in heaven? Live with eternity in view leaving a landmark on earth.

Quote: The greatest unselfish adventure of life is living for the Gospel –  George Izunwa.

Prophetic Word: May you know the destiny project to run with, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus:

  1. I receive Divine grace to run and finish my race, in the name of Jesus.
  2.  I come against every selfish attitude in my life in the name of Jesus.
  3.  Lord, keep the vision of my destiny ever burning in my heart in Jesus name.
  4. I refused to be discouraged, in Jesus name.
  5. Power behind poor finishing in my life, die, in Jesus name.

MYTHS ABOUT WORKING IN HEALING AND THE MIRACULOUS (1)

A myth is a popular belief or tradition that has grown up around something or someone which is usually unfounded and a false notion. Unfortunately, many believers love God, pray, attend church, yet never step into the miraculous. This is not because God has changed, but because certain beliefs have quietly limited them. Let’s expose them...
