Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 11: 1-4
Memory Verse: Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether one or the other will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good. Ecclesiastes 11:6 (NASB)
Most people live by exchanging their time for money. They work, receive a salary, and immediately a portion of that income disappears through taxes and expenses. By the time the month ends, only a little remains. It becomes a cycle of working harder just to maintain life. But there is another principle: build and hold assets.
An asset is something that grows in value over time or produces value without your daily effort. When a person begins to build assets—business ownership, investments, property, or intellectual creations—they are no longer depending only on their labour. Their assets begin to work for them. As long as they are simply growing and not being sold, the gain is often not taxed. Some people use their assets as security to loan money from financial institutions such as banks when they need it. A loan is not income, so it is treated differently, and often not taxed.
This principle mirrors a spiritual truth found throughout Proverbs – wise people build slowly and patiently. Instead of consuming everything today, they plant seeds that will grow tomorrow. (Proverbs 10:14)
Another lesson is patience. Many people rush to sell what they own the moment its value increases. But wisdom sometimes says, hold it. Let it grow. Let time multiply it. Just as a farmer does not dig up his seed every week to check its progress, a wise steward allows investments to mature.
There is also the wisdom of leverage. When a person owns valuable assets, opportunities begin to open. Doors that are closed to someone with nothing may open to someone who has built something of value. Ownership creates influence.
Wealth is rarely the result of sudden miracles alone. More often, it is the fruit of discipline, wisdom, and long-term thinking.
So the question is not only, “How much do I earn?” The wiser question is, “What am I building that will outlive today?” Because in both finance and faith, the seeds you plant today are the harvest you will live on tomorrow.
Quote: At any level you’re financially, think ownership, investments, and leverage.
Prophetic Decree: Henceforth, you shall begin to walk on gold, in Jesus name.
