Bible Reading: Hebrews 12:2
Memory Verse: Looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity]… Hebrews 12:2a (AMP)
God bless Ayobami Abraham. She said: I want to share a simple but powerful lesson about learning to follow the voice of your Creator, even when everything around you feels confusing.
While we were filming recently, we needed to shoot a restaurant scene early in the morning. We arrived around 7 a.m., but first, we had to go pick up the keys. We got into the car, entered the address, and almost immediately something felt off. The map display looked strange, confusing, unclear, and almost unreliable. Everyone in the car noticed it.
I remember saying, “If I were the one driving with this display, we might get lost.” But the driver calmly responded that he wasn’t paying attention to how the screen looked. He was only focused on the voice giving directions. As long as the voice was clear, he knew we would be fine.
And we were! We got to our destination on time. We didn’t miss the way. We didn’t get lost.
That moment stayed with me because it mirrors how we often live our lives. We focus so much on what we can see, how messy things look, how unclear the situation feels, and then we ignore what God is actually saying. We let appearances shout louder than divine instruction.
God is far more concerned with whether you are listening than whether the situation looks perfect.
Peter walked on water as long as his attention stayed on Jesus. The moment he shifted his focus to the noise of the storm, fear took over and he began to sink. The storm didn’t change, his focus did.
The same is true for us. Distractions, pressure, and uncertainty will always exist. But when you allow those noises to drown out God’s voice, you lose direction. When you fix your attention on what God is saying, despite how things appear, you will arrive exactly where He intends you to be.
Don’t follow the noise. Follow the voice.
Song: Lead Me To The Rock by Don Moen
Quote: When your way looks confusing, trust the voice that knows the destination. God’s guidance is clearer than your circumstances
Prophetic Decree: You will arrive at your God-ordained destination on time, with clarity, peace, and divine accuracy.
Prayer Focus
Father, I thank You because You are the God who leads and never misguides. Help me to silence every voice of fear, doubt, and confusion around me. Train my heart to trust what You are saying even when my situation looks uncertain. Like Peter, help me to fix my eyes on Jesus and keep me steady above every storm. I receive clarity, obedience, and confidence in Your direction. I will not miss my way. My ears are sharpened to hear God clearly. Every distracting noise is silenced. I will not miss my way, I will not sink, in Jesus name, Amen.
