Bible Reading: Philippians 3: 13-14

Memory VerseBut you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9

God did not create you to roam the earth but to reign on earth. You are from God’s royal family with a royal identity. You don’t go forward looking backward; a driver that keeps looking backward will definitely crash. The more you look back, the less you get ahead. A man who falls in a race can still win a prize if he rises up promptly to continue. That you fell down is not an issue; get up, dust yourself and move on. Let your tomorrow so occupy you to the extent that the memory of yesterday’s failure will look too small for you. You cannot change your past, but you can do something about your future.

The past is irreparable but your future is great. Forget yesterday’s problems; and trust God to give you a colorful future. You have a future! Cultivate a habit of always looking forward. Let yesterday die. Look beyond its scars. There is no star without a scar. The failure is only an event; not a person. That you failed does not mean that you are a failure. “Failure is only an opportunity to begin again more intelligently” – Henry Ford. Past experience should be a guide-post; not a hitching-post.

There is nothing you can do to undo yesterday’s misdeeds, but you can do something to avoid today’s mistake. Your past cannot be changed but you can change your tomorrow by your action today. Abraham Lincoln failed and failed and failed. Imagine if he had allowed his past failures to control him, he would not have become the President of the United States of America. Don’t waste today regretting yesterday.

Stop focusing on yesterday. Learn the lessons. Forget unnecessary details. Thomas Edison was informed that his laboratory had been gutted by fire. Instead of feeling bad, he told his wife to come see the inferno because she might not have the opportunity to see such great fire again. Afterwards, Edison took the world of science by storm. He did not allow the event to deter him. He started reconstruction almost immediately. Every setback is only a comeback to take you up. Therefore, forget that past and embrace your bright future. See you at the top. God bless you.

Quote: There is more in the future than the past can give. Look forward.

Prophetic Decree: The Lord shall come against every stronghold that has pinned your mind to your past, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Father for your enduring mercies towards me.

2. I break every yoke of my past speaking woe to my future, in Jesus name.

3. Deliverance fire of God, purge my mind, in Jesus name.

4. Peace that passes all-understanding envelop my heart, in Jesus name.

5. My Father make me who you want me to be this year, in Jesus name.
