Bible Reading: Philippians 3:13-14

Memory Verse:  Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 (NKJV)

Life is lived forward but learnt backward.  What has been done has been done. Try not to cry or moan over spilled milk. You either learn from it, or you allow the pain of the past to hinder your fighting spirit, stall your destiny speed, and ultimately douse your spirit. Friends, I know life could have happened to you last year. Perhaps a deal went bad, you lost some life-changing opportunities, you had some business failures, or you failed an examination. Perhaps all your earnest expectations didn’t come through – the supposed marriage ceremony, the fruit of the womb, your retirement benefits, just to mention but a few. Nevertheless, Christ remains faithful. The journey from the cross to the throne usually comes with a little adventure, sensation, and thriller. That’s what makes life interesting. Friend, guard your loins and fight again.

I perceive in my spirit that what could stall many in this new year is unforgiveness. There are many who have vowed never to forgive certain individuals. Why close the heavens of your destiny because of a passing situation? This year, fight that spirit of unforgiveness. Beloved, there are some fights you cannot win especially when it involves spiritual authorities such as your parents, pastor, teachers, or guardian, I mean people who have contributed to your life positively at certain seasons in your life. The best of us are still human. No matter how good a man or woman may be, the humanity in our divinity will show up one day. Know this and know peace. Know this and prepare your heart to forgive even before they offend you. Why should you hold unforgiveness in your heart against a friend/colleague and rob yourself of your peace for many years?

Friends, a new year starts first from a change of mindset, a change in your world outlook, a resolute decision to change a lifestyle. Nothing becomes new without a decision to be new.

Quote:  Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today – Will Rogers

THREE THINGS YOU MUST CONQUER

Life is not just about what you achieve, it’s about what you master. Before God can trust you with influence, impact, or increase, He watches how well you can govern yourself. It was Apostle Arome Osayi who said: "The first thing that a young adult must be exposed to is mastery over appetite...
