Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 28:8

Memory Verse:  The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. Deuteronomy 28:12 (NKJV)

The time has come when our nation must produce more entrepreneurs, business owners and job creators. You will never be financially free relying only on your salary. For many a salary earner, it is high time you see your salary as a seed and as an investment. Enough of impromptu spending. It’s time to build something for yourself. You venture into entrepreneurship gradually while you hold unto your job until when your business needs more of your attention. Then, you can transition fully. Be wise. Don’t take rash decision. Give yourself time to learn the robe. Give yourself time to understand the intricacies of your desired business before resigning your job. Lest I forget, take calculated risk. Don’t put all your life savings in a business you know little or nothing about. Sometimes, you share the risk with other like-minded investors. 

Taking a look at the creation story, let’s observe critically how God create. The Bible recorded that the earth was without form and void, and darkness was all over the earth. Hence, the Holy Spirit had to move upon the earth. Then, God commanded light (illumination). Better still, understanding! That’s it! As a Christian thinking of a business to venture into, you may have your likes and dislikes, but you must give the Holy Ghost ample room to move you into the mind of God for your life in business. I have heard people say, “Go for your passion” or “look for a need”. All these are not completely false provided the Spirit of God endorses it. God is only bound to finish what He authored in the first place. Think like a Christian in business and not a random business person. Submit your passion and environmental needs to God, and if it pleases Him, He endorses it. Otherwise, wait until He reveals His will unto you. Waiting is not wasting. You are a Christian in business and not another random business man.

Finally, start small but think big. When it was time for God to climax in the creation story, precisely on Day 6 – the creation of man – He called the entire God-head (Gen. 1:26). God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. That’s collaboration! Similarly, you won’t scale in your business without learning collaboration. Have a mentor in your business and you will make less mistakes with great speed. And, be open to collaboration. I see you build a conglomerate; a global brand in all the continents of the world. Prayer Focus 

1. Thank you Father for my staff of bread.

2. My Father, you have promised to bless the works of my hands, please reveal the business of my prosperity to me today, in Jesus name. 

3. I receive grace to understand the mind of God for my finances, in Jesus name. 

4. Lord, let the scales of salary fall off my eyes, in Jesus name. 

5. I receive grace for financial independence, in Jesus name.
